So I just want to know the legality of doing this. I want to learn how to upscale games that don’t have any yet. From what I understand is that tracing the textures you dump and using those is legal but upscaling the dumped non traced textures and distributing them is illegal?
My other question if the above is true is what programs are there that help with texture tracing and maybe automate the process. Are there any ai tools of note or an general starting guide to get into this?
I have a background in programming specifically Python and JavaScript if that helps with any of this lol idk
