With the discontinuation of Adobe Flash and potential security flaws, tetrisfriends (online free-to-play browser tetris) is going away. Are there groups/programmers working to rehost tetrisfriends on private servers?

It's possible for info to be documented about server/client operations while it's still up, but the shutdown announcement came recently with very short notice.

The development of alternative nintendo wfc servers such as "altwfc" and "wiimmfi" comes to mind.
(the first steps leading to the creation of those servers started here on gbatemp, utilizing user-submitted packet dumps of online wii/ds gameplay. the packet dumps were salvaged on short notice - during the last days of nintendo's official servers)

I haven't seen/found any discussion about preserving functionality and rehosting tetrisfriends yet, as the shutdown announcement was extremely recent.

Any information on the topic would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

(Sorry if this post comes off as an entitled request for a private server to be made by magic programmers. That's not the intention of the thread. I understand the troubles associated with creating and maintaining something like that. Though if there's anyone knowledgeable in online game reverse engineering thinking about taking the first steps; you would be doing a great service for the tetris community.)
