I remember when the DS was announced and I saw videos and trailers of it and its games. Reading about Super Mario 64DS and how the dual screen setup was going to revolutionize mobile gaming... then it came out... It was... fine... but this comic just dug up that disappointment. UGH

Putting "New" in front of a product name isn't something Nintendo does exclusively, it's just one of those Japan things where they'll use it for things other than food or things like toothpaste.
Sega did "New Astro City" and "New Versus City" back in the 90's. Astro City came out first, then Astro City 2, New Astro City came out after Astro City 2.
