i made sure that my switch was in rcm mode, doesnt turn on when i have the jig in the switch so it must in rcm mode,
my usb-c cable isn't faulty, i installed the driver on tegra, so im not sure why it still says "No RCM device detected"???

Have you ever been able to exploit your Switch? Need to know if you have the original model of Switch otherwise you can't use RCM at all. They patched all versions around 2018 and you need a modchip.

It's my understanding that RCM works on every Switch (except the lite as you can't detach the right controller). It's just that if the console is patched, you can't successfully push a payload.

That's what I meant you won't get anywhere as far as sending any payloads.

Let's not nitpick no one cares about using RCM to fix your Switch only to send an exploit. You're not really helping anything by nitpicking with someone trying to help I'm not the one that needs help with my Switch.

I'm not sure how to understand your reply. I wasn't nitpicking, I was merely mentioning that all Switch consoles (except Lite) can enter RCM. Coming back to the OP's problem, that means that TegraRCM GUI (which I assume he's using) should detect his Switch when it's in RCM, no matter if he has a patched console or not. That should help him troubleshoot his problem. That doesn't mean he'll successfully push a payload, but the first step is having TegraRCM see the Switch.

To the OP, try to turn off your console by holding the power button for 20 secs, an retry to enter RCM. You could also try another method, like using a phone.

You didn't address OP at all and it didn't accomplish anything to tell me what I already know, that any Switch can enter RCM. Everybody knows that, so your post was completely worthless since you didn't help OP and your point was pointless. Only the lowest IQ people focus on something that isn't important. I'm pretty sure you've done this before you focus on the exact wording of what I say when I'm trying to help someone. You're just trolling and you know it.

OP - You probably never installed the drivers.

All we can do is go by what he says, and he said he installed the drivers. We don't even know if his switch is capable of being softmodded because that's something he did not say if he's successfully done the exploit before or not.

First of all you need an unpatched Switch.
Check that with your serial number here :
https://ismyswitchpatched.com/
If your Switch is patched then your Switch won't show up in most cases.

Unless your Switch is in autorcm mode, you need to insert a jig in the right joycon rails and press vol + and power to enter the RCM mode.
Note that there are still charger-only cables out there.
You need a data cable.
Usually when the Switch doesn't show up it is a driver issue.
If you have an android phone then you can also use Rekado (and put the phone in USB-OTG mode).

my switch is not patched, i checked, how do i know if my switch is in autorcm mode?

also by "data cable," like one i can use to transfer pictures with?
