Techland confirms free PS5 upgrade and Microsoft Smart Delivery for 'Dying Light 2 Stay Human'

Dying Light 2 Stay Human is only a few weeks from getting release and developer Techland provided more details about those transitioning from old-gen to current-gen platforms. All PS4 and PS4 Pro users who own a copy of Dying Light 2 will be eligible for a free PS5 version upgrade. Techland's new game will also support Microsoft’s Smart Delivery, enabling Xbox One players to freely upgrade their copy of the game to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.

However, the developer announced that cross-platform and cross-generation console cooperative experience will not be available for Dying Light 2 Stay Human at launch. There is better news for PC gamers as cross-play between Steam and Epic Games Store versions will be enabled at launch.

Earlier this week, Techland also shared the news that the cloud version of Dying Light 2 Stay Human for the Nintendo Switch has been pushed back and it won't launch alongside other platforms. The developer says that the reason is "to provide fans with the gaming experience at the level they deserve and that Techland wants to provide". They now expect Dying Light 2 Stay Human (Cloud Version) to launch within six months from the original date.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human is set to release on February 4, 2022 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

Boy, oh boy, do I wish PS5's were actually in stock.
PC Master Race FTW :)
On another note, Techland's generosity (update schedule and freebie giveaways [similar to CDPR's]) and game development skills are reasons why I supported the first Dying Light and am looking forward to the sequel.

And we still get nothing about the Next-Gen patch they promissed of the first title. FPS Boost helps on Xbox Series X, but the game still running in 1080p and exactly the same graphics of Xbox One version. C'mon...
