Team-Xecuter Releases SX OS v1.2

TX Releases Another Update To Their SX OS, with the big feature everyone was waiting for 'CARD2' support!
txos12.jpg

Earlier this weekend, we were informed by TX that they were busy putting the finishing touches on yet another major update to their very popular SX OS, and now with v1.2 you have what everyone was screaming for since the first release, the latest 'card2' games! :)
It's been a busy week at the Team-Xecuter headquarters, after releasing v1.1 of SX OS we got (yet again) a good amount of feedback from the community.

Let's jump straight into the changes for version 1.2 of SX OS:
  • Added Card2 support
A small dozen (currently released) games were not compatible with SX OS, we tracked down these incompatibilities with these so-called "CARD2" games and fixed them. You can now fully enjoy `Sushi Striker' and other games!
  • Added downgraded fuse support
In v1.1 we added a protection against programming fuses. What was not added was a bypass for the "fuse checks", this has now been addressed. Advanced users who want to enjoy "downgraded" firmwares can now do so!
  • Improved homebrew compatibility
Without going into complicated details, homebrew compatibility has been improved once again. Give your problem homebrew titles another spin, and let us know if any problems remain. We're sure this should be a big improvement.
As always, updating SX OS is simply a matter of replacing "boot.dat" in the root of your microSD card. No need to re-activate your license or anything.

Stay tuned for more updates. We're far from done!

Is anyone else seeing slow loading times in Mario Tennis? It's mainly the black screens when you leave a stage in adventure mode, I'm noticing they take around 8-9 seconds. Hoping it's not my SD card, I haven't had this problem with any other game (legitimately owned or otherwise)...

That's an issue with the game itself actually. It has heavy load times on legitimate carts as well.

I mean based on the contents of the game, you can tell it was a rushed release.

At least you got to spend that time listening to the screechy widdly widdly noises from the tape.

Fucking multi load tape games, those were a serious ball ache.

I know your pain. I remember starting a speccy game loading once and I farted at some point during loading. The *@%!$ failed to load, I kid you not. Must have been the floorboards vibrations. It was, as I remember though, a particularly good fart :rofl2:

That's luxury my friend. Try having to type in the hundreds of lines of code yourself from a magazine before you could play the shitty games. Oh and correcting all the bloody syntax errors before it would even run :/

Yup, just updated . On a funny stupid note:. When I put in my new SD card I updated something in my Switch.... It disabled Auto RCM mode.... So I needed to stick a paperclip in it again.... Took me 3 hours LMAO

So guys, what do you all think.
Is it worh to get the SX Pro, when i am already using the OS. It looks kinda handy when you are on a trip
Yep for portability its wonderful. No messing with phones, cables and so on.
Just bring your assorted payloads on the micro sd. And you can load whatever you want whenever you want.
If it's OFW, CFW, Lakka, Hekate, Atmosphere etc etc

This looks like a great product.

I realize Nintendo is on top of the whole piracy thing - ensuring that people who try to play online games that are not legit have their game, account and perhaps switches banned from their online services.

Does anybody have any information regarding getting banned for using the SX Pro etc. while totally offline (i.e. no wireless network setup + airplane mode)... And then booting the regular FW with legitimate game cards to play online?

I wonder if Nintendo is still able to ban people simply for launching SX OS or installing autoRCM... or if they somehow also keep track of if a non legitimate game has ever been loaded on the system in the past (even while offline)..

I read a bit about the certificates etc and it makes sense - but I also wonder how that could effect the used game market and/or library rentals.. I suppose the issue is if a given game certificate is invalid or if a valid one is being used simultaneously on many systems....

Anyway, I might order an SX Pro mostly just to play around with homebrew and emulators for old games etc but Im still worried about being banned even without pirating Switch games....

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.
  • Veho @ Veho:
There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
