This guy doesn't have more money than Nintendo lol. They'll fight tooth and nail to save their reputation and to make a point. The longer the case is dragged on, the more money is spent. Nintendo can drag it on as long as they want since they have the upper hand.
I think you confused criminal case with civil case. The plaintiff is US DOJ, not Nintendo. Nintendo can only be called as witness. Yes, money can buy you the best defense in US. But we have seen many slam dunk criminal cases been fight off with peasant lawyers, Casey Anthony's case for example. You need beyond reasonable doubt to convict someone in criminal court while you only need 51% in civil.
That being said, I do think Gary is unlikely to walk free and will get some light sentence. But there is no need to panic, with Gary gone someone will fill in. Seriously, did killing Pablo Escobar or arrest of Joaquin Guzman put a dent in the drug industry?
