Actually the thing with boot0 is different, and not just a thing of vulnerability to the fakesigning bug.
Boot0 resides on a mask rom inside Starlet. And by being a ROM it can't be modified in anyway aside from the initial in-factory programming.

Thanks for that. I couldn't remember why boot1 was untouchable. It's because it verifies boot1 contents again a hash stored in a non-writable area.
So... boot1 in itself is writable (as it's just the first part of the NAND). The problem comes when you try to modify its contents.
By changing its contents, the hash changes. That will lead the Wii to refuse to boot, because when comparing the current hash to the one stored in the non-writable area, it finds it to be different.

whats that got to do with this? as TT stated they have seen many hash's and want to build a database on them, so that when you install your not going to brick because your hash hasnt been acounted for.
