I think it's very stupid that you need a wiimote to play GC games too, nintendo should update this.

Actually you can't play GC games with a Wii remote. I don't rally know if there is a mod or something

I meant: Without a wiimote you can't use your wii to play a GC game, that's just too stupid.

Yes, true. You need to navigate to the disk menu with a Wiimote everytime you want to play a gamecube game. REALLY annoying.

Does the Starfall autoboot option work for GC games?

its not stupid, its more sence than anything, wii starts gamecube mode, gamecubes never had wiimote, it doesnt even know how to use a wiimote, even on the wii, GC games dont know how to use a wiimote

You did not understand: If you start the wii, it's in wii mode, which means both wiimote and GC controller support. Then you need the wiimote to start the game in GC mode. There is absolutely no reason why you can't navigate in the system menu with a GC controller.

I don't see how navigating the menu is impossible with a GC pad, but I don't know a way to either. And most people don't care about doing this anyways, so there isn't a major push for a patch.

i think the MAJOR push for a patch like this would be for games like SSBB MK games like that. becauase having to turn the wiimote on is crap jut to play these games

If the batteries of your wiimote are empty and you want to play a GC game, what do you do?

Get new batteries?

EDIT
Aw, beaten.

Now, seriously. I would love if someone made a patch to use GC controller in Wii Menu.

@SylverReZ, atleast wiimmfii went fine although people only use it for Mario kart Wii

At least if they ban you for cheating, get another Wii. They're cheap as chips.

  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
    not really
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
It got shutdown because somebody "accidentally" leaked the database for the amount of people using the beta.

RiiShop is the laziest way of downloading Wii games. Did somebody not think of this through?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Brb
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
ngl i feel like if a bunch of my friends have wiis and know how to get wiimmfi and back up their NAND, then we could do a PMEX Remix tournament
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
maybe even add UMVC3/DBFZ and make it a biathlon/triathlon
