I use the cIOS Downgrader to 3.1, wich only installs IOS30 and the SysMenu, and then used the Wii Settings to update to 3.4, and nothing happened...!!!

I MEAN NOTHING BAD, MY WII STILL WORKS LIKE NEW

and I'm still wondering why da' f**ck Starfall doesn't region free the discs

Hey did anyone try the fish disc?? I know we talked about ios 16 but did anyone actually try it?? I am going to look at it in a minute...

@Ether... omg..no fucking way... and everything is working ok?? still loads backups from disc channel?

Wait a sec this works on 3.4 with no probs? has anyone tried 3.2v2 thats the one that exactly overwrites the IOS's i'm pretty sure 3.4 doesn't

I haven't done any of the Title Lister or FS Dumper, wich I still can found anywhere or haven'r searched that well, but I'm pretty sure it overwritted all, or at least the ones we modify, I can't check nothing 'till 10pm when my whip......errr......wife goes to bed...!!!

lol, so you updated safely?
I see no cons (other then the brickage risk DURING install) of having this installed.
I think eventually, a noob-proof installation will be released that gives the user no options to change anything, does everything for them.

My wii is now almost as good as a modchip, now all we need to do is hack the dvd's firmware. Is there anyway to access that through the wii itself?

It actually only IOS16 wasn't changed, the rest is all gone, and aparently SysMenu in 3.4 is now hanging of IOS50

so then the next step is to downgrade repatch them and change the version numbers higher and see if it still replaces them with an update.

ok... cool... cool... atleast no brick.. hmmm.... this is getting crazy...I think we just completely pwned a wii.... especially after a fake server is made up... My god... this has alll just gotten so much better than last week and some of this was so obviously graspable... yet simple enough to trick us to thinking it wouldn't be possible... So WiiGator's theory just kind of went out the window about the updates causing a brick...well for 3.4 atleast... Now where the hell is Crediar with some preloading ntsc for the flipside on the wiigipsy holding a peace sign????....

The catch as I see it to loading Rebooter/Menu Patcher at boot is that It has to loaded after System Menu, because doesn't it patch system menu in ram. That's why you have to reoad it after exiting a game. The reload of System Menu overwrites the changes in RAM? Would be nice if it could load prior though.

wiigator gave us the code to make the change permanent..... its just a matter of someone being brave and doing it

Is it a change to the System Menu source, or a change to the IOS the system menu uses?

make it ^^^^^ I'll test it.

I will give it a whirl as well.....you only live once

I am glad to hear that updates only rewrite the cIOS with the new IOS. I thought that would be the case and actually considered doing the update to see what would happen. I would rather do the update on purpose, brick and post the results then have someone accidentally do it and be screwed.

ok this is after I came back from 3.4 to 3.2, the SysMenu again attached to IOS30

Alright, I have to install this. Can someone please PM me the link to WiiBlaster's cIOS download pack and also cIOS 16? I don't think he is online right now. I of course know the risks, complications, etc... I've been following this the whole way.

Also, could someone could give me all of the original IOS'es as well? I need them because i doubt my Wii is a genuine 3.2U.

I can't believe the discoveries that have been happening in the past few days. Backups natively running from the Disk channel without a modchip? That was once unthinkable, and now we have it within a few days from the idea that started this! I may not ever have to use a loader again. All of my backups are NTSC. This is definitely the best thread I have followed since I've been a member at GBAtemp. Thank you for all who have contributed to this project!
