I have ethers installer as well, but Wiiblaster sent me all of the wads premade. My only question would be about the IOS30 - can i just install the CIOS30 wad?

Also - I have preloader installed and for somereason It wont let me reinstall starfall - it goes to the pres b+1 screen and then hits the next screen and says something like seek fail -101 or somthing.

So, i can't get starfall back on - I think i need to install a new 3.2 sys menu wad which should overwrite preloader.

I don't know if reinstalling the SysMenu would help as I don't know much about that but if you want the wad, either PM me for a 3.2U WAD or get one of bushing's Semi-Brick fix iso's and use Trucha Signer to extract the wad.

Good question FGOD - I was about to start installing this with the files from Wiiblaster, but what about preloader - will it have any effect as its patched the current system menu?

Or would you need to uninstall preloader first?

Also, i never kept a record if my games are pal or ntsc but as i live in england, if any of the copies are ntsc and i try to run them, could i be hit with an out of region update or not?

I have starfall but, just checking thats all guys.

I take it the procedure for the this would be the same for a pal wii as well?

yep, same procedure.

With the multi-cIOS installer, does it patch ALL of the IOS's, does it ask you which ones you want to patch.
How does it work exactly?

It asks you what Source Base IOS to use and Which Dip Module to use and Which IOS to install it to.

Typical configuration might be IOS36 with IOS36 Dip 7 installed to IOS249

Search and read the threads on the installer. It's pretty straight forward once you play with it a bit. You'll want the IOS files installed in the 00000001 folder on your SD card like the directions show. I put all the IOS36 and IOS37 files on my SD and use those two only.

???? I read tutorials but I'm STILL confused... I moved all the CIOSes WADs into /00000001 and then ran MC installer but I still don't get it. Can you please help...

**************** STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING RIGHT NOW ***********************

If you put WADS in the 0000000001 folder then you're totally lost......

Do Not try to use Multi-cIOS-Installer until you understand everything about it.

If you absolutely must install this mod then install the cIOS WAD files with WAD manager.

This hack is for experienced users modders and still experimental.

My advice to you is READ more before doing this. I wouldn't even think about it till starfall is installed with all options on. (except GC region free)

I got all the files(Custom CIOS-installer + CIOSes) but how do I install them???

I would advise to just install using the wads. It'd be pretty easy to make a mistake with Multi cIOS Installer.

And only do this mod if you're experienced modding and I would suggest to only do it if your using System Menu 3.2 and have starfall installed.

The files won't appear in WAD Manager... That's why I said that! Lawl... (I'm not that much of a n0ob !:ha: )

As I said before, the WADs won't appear in WAD Manager... THat's why I tried other things why I knew couldn't possibly work as from what I read, i'd have to unpack the WADs in order to use Multi-Cios installer... I"m just trying whatever I can!

Yes, reinstall your System Menu WAD to remove preloader then you can install starfall. I have two SystemMenu3.2U.wad files. One is the original and the second is patched to run off IOS249. Since I was testing and to be safe, I had my System Menu patched to IOS249 and running off it before i patched my IOS30. I just haven't reinstalled my original System Menu yet to put it back on IOS30.

But I believe that yes you can just install the CIOS30 right over IOS30. Please wait for a second confirmation before doing so though as I did not do it that way myself.

Are you sure u put the wads in the "WAD" folder on the root of your sd carD?
if they are, just keep going down, wad manager only shows 10 wads per page.

So, I can go ahead and install the wads from Wiiblasters pack cios 9,11,12,13,14,15,17,20,21,22,2,8,30,21,33,34,35,36, bugfix37,38,53, and 55?

and then i should be good to go?

Correct?

I am on a Pal wii, 3.2, no chip.

This is the method I used to install and it worked no probs. I beleive you also need to install cIOS36rev7 if you don't already have it.

Ok, i think things got a little confused replying to a couple different issues at the same time.

To install the CIOS files from WAD package just do like always. Put them in the WAD folder on SD and install with Wad Manager 1.3

At your own full brickage risk of course!

I was able to install CIOS30 wad over IOS30.

I'm not THAT stupid! Lol... Been using Wad Manager since it's first release!

I don't know why they won't work! All my other wads work... Weird!

and this exactly why no one would never ever make a tutorial about this, no one has even dump his/hers NAND to their PC first to have the fallback for if anything, and now you are trying to install something you don't even know how it works, or the Wii works in that case.

Is either the cIOS wads install thru Wad Manager 1.3 and cIOS249_r7 previously installed, or....

Use the Multi_cIOS installer that I post a few pages back, but you need for this one two things, read entirely the "readme_or die.txt" file and to have internet conection in the Wii, if you read the readme you will know how to do it without the conection.

You want to install IOS36 - cIOS36DIP7 in all of your IOS places, search in this thread wich ones are they, the only change is in IOS37, it needs to be IOS37 - cIOS37DIP7 in IOS37, and the security of the untouchable IOS30 is enable, so you can either patch SysMenu.wad to IOS249 and install it, or use the cIOS package from WiiBlaster to install this one only.

IF YOU ONLY WANT TO PLAY BACKUPS IN YOUR WII BUT DON'T KNOW WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THEN THIS THREAD IS NOT OF YOUR BUSSINES, GO AWAY AND NEVER LOOK BACK, YOU CAN EASILY SCREW FOR LIFE WITHOUT ANY SLIGHTLY CHANCE OF FIX YOUR WII

Thanks Jizmo.

I just checked and i have an old copy of sys menu 3.2e from Wiiblaster from ages ago.

I've never reinstalled a system menu before - in the archive, i have 2 wads, sys menu and ios30, is there any order they need to be insalled in?

lol, i think i'm one of the very few that actually dumped their NAND before attempting this. It should be a prerequisite, if you can't figure out how to dump it then you should just stick with softchip or gamma.

HaHa! I was THAT Stupid!!!! I had forgotten that WM only showed 10 wads per page!!! What a dumna**! Lawl!

EDIT: DAMN!!!!!! MY WII WON'T TURN ON!!!!! WHAT DO I DO!!!@!!!
EDIT2: Just kidding... It works perfectly! GOOD JOB GUYS!!! You guys are GREAT!

I did dump my NAND, but I'm not TOO sure on how i would go on putting everything back to normal.
Would i just pack each IOS as a WAD, then install them back through wad manager?
Not that i would want to do anything of the sort at this point in time.

I see alot of bricked wii's in the near future. I cannot stress this often enough, anyone attempting this BE PREPARED TO LOOSE YOUR WII. READ THE WHOLE THREAD AND DUMP YOUR NAND FIRST!!!!!
and for the love of wii, no one write a how-to or guide on this.

You're right! Writing a guide would just get too much n0obs(wprse than me) to brick their wiis...
I got a question, when you brick your Wii when installing CIOSes, is it a Semi brick of a Full Brick??? Just curious...

If it's the correct system menu for your Wii then just install the system menu.wad Make sure that it's not modified to run from a different IOS though.

mine is .... SystemMenu-v289.wad 21,983,552 Bytes 3.2U

I think i ran WUFE or something like that to extract it from the system. Somebody else can tell you which tool does that exactly or check out WUFE yourself and see if that's the utility that does it. Can't remember if I extracted from my NAND or from a DVD though.

No we don't want to close the thread.... This still hasn't had enough testing, and id hate for a mod to close this thread just in time for bricks to start.... at least with the thread the HELP!!!!! messages will be kept in one place instead of spread through 100 topic on the board all asking the same things
