This is awesome, this pure and simple awesome.
I've tried all of my games, original and burnt. They all work straight from disc channel.
2 out of region games (1 original, 1 patched) both work.
This setup + Starfall = pure awesome.

All this from an idea which was thought up just a couple of days ago, why couldn't forsaekn be that fast....

Anyways thanks WiiBlaster and Ether on all your work on this!
Good luck on getting your wii to work Ether

You say your'e able to run the out of Region games without using Rebooter? I'm assuming your on a PAL system.
Are you sure the games aren't Region patched? NTSC Region Code but PAL Game Code. For me on NTSC machine PAL games only show up in Disc Channel by decault if they are region patched to NTSC. The FULL PAL games only show up if I use rebooter.
It was region patched. The original one loads only because starfall.
I haven't tried any non-patched burnt NTSC games.

They should at this time only show up if you use rebooter.

They just show up like all the other burnt and original games, and load up and run just like them too. Even Rockband 2 (although I'm using the GH wireless instruments).

As far as a name for the project goes.... what about something like IOSBlaster or cIOSBlaster. The package would be the system menu IOS patcher, multi-cIOS-installer. IOS Dumper to back up Original IOS library. Detailed documentatin of course. Seems that would be most of what's needed.

The Blaster in the name of course because we all know who was the driving force and took the initiative and risks here. No disrepect to the people who had the original idea or anything but WiiBlaster made it happen.

Ether, great job modifying the Multi-cIOS-Installer.
Ironmask, great job testing and keeping your local weed dealer employed.

WiiBlaster, great job with everything you did.
WiiPower, thanks for the expertise, hints and assurance.
OSW, thanks for bringing the Topic up on GBATemp and planting the seed.
and everygody else I'm forgetting....... meh.

and now my 36 hour posting marathon winds down.

SHIT! I'm ramblin, ramblin round, I'm a ramblin guy.... R . A . M . B . L . I . N apostrophe...... RAMBLIN!

Dude you're a trip... If anyone wants the CIOSPAK let me know...I will be out most of the day....I also have a pretty good version of FS_Dumper because this is one if not the most important thing you should do... That way you kind of have a "recovery disk", so to speak. Yea, your probably asking...what the hell am I supposed to be doing with this? Can't I just get the original IOSes from someone else... Yea, I guess you could... but if you want to try and learn this then this is definately the stuff to start to take a look at because it's everything on your RAM dumped to the SD card... which should be all the IOSes installed, and other stuff saved in your RAM... I am still not even close to figuring out what all these folders and files are.. but eventually if I keep messing around with this I will either learn it or end up bricking a Wii.. but hey... seems like everybody has a damn Wii now a days..

About a name.. something like "cIOSMenu Loader"was what I was thinking...not too original though...

but hey... I'm the same guy who named his kids after The Simpon's... (Just kidding... I only have a stepson)
wink.gif

Again... I have some of the stuff you will probably need to do this... If you need any help with it or just want to drop in to say fuck off! then... hit me up on msn messenger at [[email protected]] (only whats in the box)...

I am also putting this in my sig... I would hate to see someone interested in this brick their wii... anyways I liked it... I did try and convert some pals to ntsc with the Region changer 1.1... I tried Disaster Day and the version I was going to change said it already was but it still does not get recognized in the disc channel...but all my ntsc's are showing up... and lemme tell ya! I have a lot of freaking games... and it was amazing to see what some of the games looked like from the disc channel.... i had no clue! like a kid in a candy shop

The main advantage to me is the ability to autoboot backup disks without modchip, incase of a brick

You know what just dawned on me. I've already of course booted from recovery menu to the autoboot wad manger disc. But i just realized we should be able also then to boot directly into a Game Backup. I'm gonna have to give it a quick try. Of course it will work.

Edit: Yep, just as I expected. Held Y button down on my wireless GC controller and hit power button. Wrist strap warning screen was up in about 10 seconds. Very fast booting directly into the game. Eject Disc then hit reset loads System Menu.

This of course we already knew would work because we discussed the ability to now use a backup of Twilight Princess to do the twilight hack should we have to boot a .dol off of SD.

Ok, now my wheels are turning or I have very good drugs.

Since inserting a disc into a Wii that is turned off turns it on here is what you can do. A GC port Dongle with an ON/OFF switch on it. When it's ON it acts as Y button held down. When It's off it's off. This way, if the dongle is turned on, when you insert original or backup into the drive the Wii turns itself on and boots into the game directly. It just simply goes into recovery mode and boots straight into the game. BAM@!@! Auto Game Loader. If the Dongle is switched off when the wii turns on then it goes as normal to system menu!!!!

This is getting better by the minute. I love how this works and so far it's been 100% reliable.
Boot Directly into game. When done playing either use Home botton or eject disc and hit reset to get to system menu.
It Works too good to be true.

Now if this were able to be done with the WiiMote instead of the GC port that would be nice, but that would be too much code in the boot1 requiring bluetooth communications and stuff, whereas using the GC port is a simple hardware port and the code is already in the boot sequence. I can clearly see that today I'm going to be tearing apart a GC controller and putting the guts in a little project box and put a toggle switch on it and solder a couple wires. I'll call it the JiizBlaster!

Thoughts on this idea?

Well... I am off to work... guys... that are just trying this... please be careful none of this "official" or that organized so please don't come back complaining about how we screwed your wii up... you did it because you were just as curious as we were... well maybe not...but you know my drift...

Just remember to backup all your stuff you dumped from the NAND to the SD card.

Write down each of the IOSes you have dipped out on and put a check by them or something...
That way you can keep track of what you are doing....
There are no "official" instructions on this..so it's all on you...(we did not put the crack stem in your hand)
If you are really wanting to do this.... then please please read this thread carefully all the way through... don't do something to fast... DO NOT RUSH this... its a process... you could forget stuff.. so write it down as you go...

Good luck

Ultraquick backup loading lol.

Ok guys, i'm not fully on top of everything that has happened in this topic, but can someone tell me, how can i patch over IOS36 with a cIOS that supports dual layer (for brawl) in it's place, if possible.

If anybody wants a cheap and easily accessable version of my JiizBlaster just go to wal-mart and buy one of the wireless GameCube controllers for around $10.00

Hold the Y when you boot then put it down and forget about it. Mine auto shuts off in a couple minutes. If it would interfere with a game then manually just shut it off as when you get to the strap warning screen.

Or wait and buy my official Blaster and it will be priced in the $799.00 - $899.00 pricerange. Depending on dealer markup.

You guys are crazy...

The multi_cios_installer installs WiiGator's cIOS if you select IOS36 with IOS36 dip, not Waninkoko's.

You don't need a backup disc with dumped IOS files, you can extract all from any game disc, while i recommend you to use the ones from a 3.1 or 3.2 game from the same region as your Wii.

Why don't your "decide" to patch the system menu or IOS30? I mean for now there are only few people doing this, and if you tell the people now which version to use, ALL people will use this version in the future. This would have the advantage of really the same installations. If one version causes a problem, it's either all have this problem or nobody has it. And it's really recommend if any noobs do it. Noobs can only tell "i patched a lot of stuff, and now i can run backups from the disc channel", if nobody know which version they use, there WILL be a lot of bricks.

I would go for IOS30 patch with only patched dip. This way you would have a clean and correct signed system menu(edit: if you install starfall, you get a fake signed system menu i guess), which behaves always as expected. And i don't know if IOS30 has some special functions included as it is the IOS used by the system, or if it's just a regular gaming IOS. If the only thing from the most important files on the wii, which is patched is the dip from IOS30, i think, this will have the lowest brick danger. Oh and this way there will be no bricks due to accidently deleted IOS249. If you chose this version, please write at least 3 times in big something like this:
After patching IOS30 once, never touch it again, if you do, your wii is bricked

If IOS 37, 33 or 55 supports Dual Layer you can use Multi-Cios-Installer to install one of them as IOS36. Unless the DIP module is what's preventing dual layer from working.

Please think about it if you want to decide which version people should use, as the sooner or later noobs will do it too.

PS: Why don't you create a poll for it...

What is your thoughts on what needs to be done for Out of Region to show up in Disc Channel by default. Or is this just a function or using Waninkoko's Rev 7 instead of WiiGator's ? I ask that since I know Wanninkoko's Rev7 is needrd for Menu Patcher to work.

I have no idea how to get this to work.

This seems to be working great so far. I'm using a NTSC wii on 3.2u with starfall and rev7 previously installed. After installing wiiblasters cios wads all my 1:1 NTSC backups are working flawlessly in the disc channel. No PAL copies working, I'm going to try to change the region on a few ISO's to see if they load.

If anyone else wants the CIOS wads just PM me. Just be aware that you are installing these at your own risk and they have not been heavily tested yet.

WiiPower, hence the MultiCios installer is yours, can I release it publicly??? I only modified one tinny number, or should I wait 'till some one writte a complete pros-contras-how_to post??

Oh and also the DIP7 can be installed from the SD so we only need to change the 01.app for the Waninkoko's 01.app extracted from a cIOS249...!!!

Oh one more question, does any anyone starfalled have tried a non-patched Animal Crossing?? it apears to have the 3.3 upgrade in it, just to check that starfall is working good...!!!

Just tested a PAL copy of COD WAW. I used regionfrii to change it to NTSC and it boots through the disc channel flawlessly. So far I cannot see any drawbacks to having this installed.

Another questions popped in by head. If I want to go back to the original ios's do I just install the original ios wads over the cios ones?
