Add madTaMsKi to another success story here guys!

Only thing I've noticed is that out of region 1:1 backups don't work, but that's ok I'll just create ISO's, region patch them and burn again!

Thanks to everyone involved in this and those (you know who you are) who pm'd me a link to the corpfiles (sounds like the XP corp files hack from years ago lol)

Cheers!

Hi everyone this is my first post. I joined just before xmas, and at the time i was on 3.4E. I have since successfully downgraded to 3.2E, starfall and 0.3 gamma, all thanks to this forum, top work!

I have been following this thread since the start, and would like to give it a try, could someone pm me a link to the cIOS wads please?

I know most people think that just being able to run backups off the disc channel is not worth it, but for my 3 kids and my "ball and chain" oops i mean fiance(lol!), clicking on the backup channel is even too technical for them!

Thx guys and keep up the good work!

no real reason to use the wads anymore, just use the multi-cios installer.

and tsk tsk tsk for having 3 kids and not married

Could anyone please make able that multi_cios can installe cios36 rev7 as IOS30?
not possible.
IOS30 is used by the system menu, so the multi cios installer doesn't alow you to overwrite it.
Is this a safety feature, or is it just incapable of installing over it?

Also just a thought. With this "WiiDipd" setup, do you think it would be possibe to create a "homebrew" dvd, which we could boot from startup? Coz as long as theres a hbc channel on my menu, my kids could always do something silly! That way i cud have all my retro roms and emulators on a disc, and my missus cud have her sd card back for the camera (im so cheap ha!)

EDIT: Actually thats probably off topic so ignore...

You can run the MulticIOS intaller from files on your SD, but it only patches IOS33-55-36-37 with DIP7 and places them in any IOS between 9 and 249, the IOS30 is a safety implemetation wich I am not really happy to eliminate, if the process stop in the middle you can easily brick your Wii

the Wad Manager in the other hand it's really more practicall so the best thing would be to dump all of your IOS into your PC and repack them with DIP7 one by one, and then install; according to WiiBlaster, not all of them are possible to pack with the DIP7 feature added, in that case you use the MulticIOS to place an IOS33 DIP7'd, for cIOS30 use the PM to contact those in this thread yelling out loud ".....I did it, I did the Mod succesfuly...."

and finally: 1 daughter not married

Are all the IOS's the exact same code or what? how come you can put another IOS in it's place and it works?
This is the thing that confuses me too. But then I suppose the way the softloaders work (forcing the ISO to use one particular cIOS) would warrant the same question.

Could someone PM me a link to all of the original IOS files? I would dump them but I'm pretty sure I'm not running a genuine 3.2U.

ok, so I installed the CIOSCORP and was told that is ALL I need to do......but now it seems like EVERY game asks for a system update!?!?

I was almost positive some of these games I removed the update but they are still asking for updates....should I update or will it remove the cios? I'm assuming I don't want to update. Maybe I need to use starfall again and make it skip updates???

Any suggestions guys? Thanks!

Gambia, The
you should reinstall starfall.

It'S weird. I was able to install all wads out of the pack with no error or without to reinstall starfall.
even ios30 installed fine.

My understanding is that as long as you don't change they system menu itself, starfall should function as normal and should stay installed.

ok, I'll try that wiishizzza. Everything installed perfectly. What took the longest was getting the Nand dumper to dump all the info (took around an hr.)

Every single cios wad installed without a problem but now I have the update issue....so I guess I will head off to install starfall again and I'll post back when I get it done.

As for why all of the games still work using basically the same IOS, The newer IOS have all the features of the older ones, just with new things added for new games. Since we are replacing them all with IOS249/DIP7 they have the up to date features as well as the older, so we don't lose any compatibility. The most recent IOS's mainly focused on adding features to block homebrew/backup loading/update channels. The reason Ninty didn't remove the older IOS as they released newer ones is its coded into the game, and they probably didn't want to give us any IOS patching/changing code, although its really a moot point now as we have developed our own ways around this.
