can you run the update???

I didn't know if I should run the update. Its an update from the disc I have in (I know because when I eject the disc, it says update failed). Like I said, I didn't want to brick my wii so I didn't run the update.....do you think I should? For instance, I tried 2 discs (SSBB dual layer disc and CSI Hard Evidence) and both prompted for update.

Concerning CIOSCORP, I noticed that there are four cIOS'es named CIOSBUGFIX37, CIOSBUGFIX38, CIOSBUGFIX53, and CIOSBUGFIX55. What exactly was wrong with them before, and are all the cIOS'es in the pack without bugs?

Yea that is exactly why the games were trying to give you the updates... If you remember gamma and other loaders have the update block code in them... This is original system with CIOSCORP installed.

So then should I update? I just checked my starfall options and for some reason I didn't have the block update option installed....so I installed it and the games didn't prompt for the update.

However, I still get a DRE on SSBB which sucks!!! I've played it before with beta but about half way through the solo mission (subspace or whatever it's called) I get the DRE.

Maybe its a bad burn? Maybe I'm just not suppose to play this game? lol

Thanks so far for everyones help on here.

Shouldn't we insert the update block code in the CIOSes as more N0obs are trying this and if they are dumb enough, they could update which could lead to something really bad...

WiiStuntMen.jpg

Maybe not THAT bad but...

Good job Jizmo for the pic btw! Lawl! Makes me laugh!

Sys: You might want to remove the CIOSes by replaceing them with orig. and then installing the update. It's a safe one.

Actually I was trying to do the Disc update, but all of my games are brickblocked
tongue.gif
, and the only one with update is Animal Crossing with 3.3E so no chance to run it from there, I want to know if it's posibble to run cause no one has touch IOS4 (except me) and it shouldn't run the update, but if you have it, then maybe IOS4 doesn't even care if the disc is a DVD or a WOD, I even try to DIP'd the IOS4 but I couldn't make the Damn update appear on the Disc Channel...!!!

I did the update again to 3.4, and now I'm on my way to 3.2
tongue.gif
, nothing bad have happened, I just want it to know if the disc can do the update too, I don't think there is going to brick, it will only replace, all of you cIOS installed to normal IOS, so no backup reading again...!!!

Can Does the multi-cios installer allow me to patch these too?
and is there any benefit of patching these IOS's aswell?

You want to install a copy of cIOS36 with dip 7 to IOS21. A lot of games use IOS21.

Add madTaMsKi to another success story here guys!

Only thing I've noticed is that out of region 1:1 backups don't work, but that's ok I'll just create ISO's, region patch them and burn again!

Thanks to everyone involved in this and those (you know who you are) who pm'd me a link to the corpfiles (sounds like the XP corp files hack from years ago lol)

Cheers!

Yea, we've known about the out of region issue. You can still play those with Gamma or Softchip of course. If you haven't read it, go back about 10 pages or so and read my review.

As for why all of the games still work using basically the same IOS, The newer IOS have all the features of the older ones, just with new things added for new games. Since we are replacing them all with IOS249/DIP7 they have the up to date features as well as the older, so we don't lose any compatibility. The most recent IOS's mainly focused on adding features to block homebrew/backup loading/update channels. The reason Ninty didn't remove the older IOS as they released newer ones is its coded into the game, and they probably didn't want to give us any IOS patching/changing code, although its really a moot point now as we have developed our own ways around this.

To be accurate, the low number IOS that won't patch successfully are being overwritten with cIOS36 dip7 in most cases. At least that what i usually use with M.C.I.
It just so happens that It's cIOS36 Dip7 that installed to most people's IOS249. HeHehehehhe Am i correcting a guru?????? Hell, i might be wrong too. Blaster could have used 33,36,37 or other if he wanted.

Is this the Wii that has been giving you trouble. Would be nice to know if that problem was a system file problem or component failure/heat related.

Would i just go about installing cIOS36 in all of the unpatched IOS's, or just 21?
I had my first non-working backup. Mario Party 8. works in gamma though.
Apparently it uses IOS9, which i thought i had patched, however i will try and patch it again using the multi-cios installer (can we call it MCI from now?).
So i would just run MCI and install cIOS36 in IOS9?

Hey just out of curiousity what does a gamecube backup do in the disc channel does it show the title menu? because I have a wii emulator iso floating around on the trackers and I tried this disc a long time ago when the backup softmodding was just done and that disc never did anything....now the disc shows a gamecube disc banner when I stick it in... but when I try to load it screen just returns me to the system menu.... Just for shits and giggles I think I may and change it so it boots the emulator to see if it works now...because before when I used to use the homebrew disk channel with the ios9660 or whatever which it called for it would never load it... so maybe now I can get it to work with this autoboot iso my autoboot wad manager uses...

Anyways... I was kind of brainstorming to see if anyone was thinking of stuff to try now with the "CIOSPAK"

Hahahaha..... are you kidding me? Brainstorming? More like Brainfarting!

You know damn well that GC backups ain't gonna run with Native MIOS or whatever it's called.

Now bend over and repeat after me...... "Thank you sir may I have another?"

I was just wandering if it even shows up as a gamecube game on the disc channel that is all...really.. I was just wandering if this made a difference somewhere that we don't know about yet... As in if it does recognize the gamecube backup in the disc channel and it didn't before we may be on to a new path with the gamecube backups thats all I was after there...

Go play with your Jizzmoblaster! LMAO!

Mario Party 8(backup) just black screens if i try to launch from disc channel it IS a NTSC version, but i patched it to pal. It runs fine from backup launcher and rebooter.
When i patched rockband 2 it worked fine though?
Ideas? and yes, i did install cIOS36 in IOS9.....twice!

About gamecube games... This is the last time i think i'll post this as im getting tired of repeating myself.
WiiGator Said the only thing keeping Gamecube games from running is that the dvd read commands for gamecube aren't correct. He has hacked the MIOS completely and that is not what is stopping GC backup from running. Until we come up with a way to translate the read commands used by GC disc to match what we use for wii backups we won't be able to have a GC backup loader. I keep hoping ppc_gba will show up and give us an update of how far he got with this, and if hes still even working on it. Also Linkinworm stated that the new multigame loader waninkoko is working on isn't CURRENTLY compatible with GC backups without a chip.... which leads me to believe wanin is working on this as we speak.
