just curious, to keep me up-to-date, what's the deal with IOS250 ??? According to the wiibrew IOS history list, it is exact same stub (same version number) as those used for IOS249/222/223/...

It is. When you run the latest cIOS installers they install both IOS249 and 250. The latter is a backup of IOS249 just in case of an update like this. It survives the update since it has the highest possible version number.

250 is a dupe of 249, but it's Version xxxx number (for example IOS 36 v1042) is maxed to 9999 I think so it can never be "updated" by nintendo with a higher version which is how IOS titles are removed.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it actually maxed out at 0xFFFF, which would be 65535? Not that that makes much of a difference, just a technicality.

Will it brick becuz a friend wants a virgin wii.

as the others have said already: no, it will only remove all custom stuff (all cIOSes, HBC and DVDx), it won't remove channels like usb loader and backup channel... you'd have to remove them beforehand using wad manager or anytitledeleter...

Wow. This is a really interesting thread.

I didn't know about IOS250. I think I know why I could do what I did when I updated to 4.2 and lost everything.
