Hacking Question (SX OS) Mario Kart 8 - Requiring a system update

Hi all,

I had SX OS from pretty much the beginning and used Mario Kart NSP just fine. My 4-year old micro-SD card died, so I had to start fresh again. I loaded up the SX OS and Mario Kart to which gives me the message of "A system update is required in order to use this software"

I haven't gotten out of airplane mode ever since I loaded SX OS nor does the Switch even know my new place's WiFi to even connect anyways. I loaded up the beta SX OS (which made Super Smash work), but Mario Kart for whatever reason is giving me this annoying message. I deleted the game from the homepage, but that doesn't still work out. Why is this even happening for this one game? I have a ton of others like Outlast, Bayonetta, Mario Party, etc. that plays fine.

When you install an update it records what version that game now needs in a special part not in that games folder.
You will need the update you applied or the latest or use dev menu to reset the update min requirement

Its not about a Mario Kart update. It’s about a system update of the switch itself.

Which version u are?
Think you can install at this time you can hack every console which is not patched.
Is your switch patched? think no but I can ask or?
But you must choose your option no mk8d or sysupdate

I just had the same issue as you. I updated my emunand to 6.2 and did manage to find the game updates to get my games working again. If you want a quick fix i would suggest on installing devmenu and then you can reset the required version and the game will load again.

A girl from I know from a french forum experienced the same issue with MK8 (only this game) but with a legit cartridge. She was suddenly asked to update the game while in OFW but the only thing she did before that was playing MK8 XCI (rebuild with 1.7 update) in CFW with emuNAND enabled. Also she did a joy-con update. Both her sysNAND and emuNAND are offline so how the hell did this happen ?? We're running some test to understand.
To the OP : Did you update your joy-cons ? Are you using emuNAND on SD ?

Just re-install the update with tinfoil and select skip fw version... works for me everytime

I got an update nsp which same version I already had, and installed it. After that the requests disappeared for this game

Do you have a guide anywhere on installing and using Devmenu to do this? Also, do you know what's the latest FW we can use Devmenu on?

Devmenu is working for me 6.2 - as long as you find the correct one.
