Doesn't that kill REMx? Not that it was an elegant solution in the first place. They did patch the MP4 player though.
You can't playback videos anymore through the hidden browser.

Huh. Blocking the URL makes the Switch fail to connect to Nintendo's servers, but without it the Switch tells me to update when trying to play a game online.nope im still on 3.0.0 i just went on my switch it said update and i just pressed start software and went into worldwide online
Try setting up a Fiddler server. That is what I did to block the updates.Any DNS I could set up to block updates and play online? My ISP has this weird modem-router combo on which I can set next to nothing.
I know that method, but it requires a PC to be turned on while I want to play online.Try setting up a Fiddler server. That is what I did to block the updates.
I know that, just keep a PC on that only has Fiddler running. Unless you use Windows 10, there should be next to no chance of the PC causing your Online Play to lag.I know that method, but it requires a PC to be turned on while I want to play online.

seems it doesn't work now. Still got the system update required message when trying to connect to the server. There seems to be a workaround for the update required message in splatoon.
Blocking the domain dauth-lp1.ndas.srv.nintendo.net until you're in game seems to allow you to bypass the update required message.

Viewing the thread above shows that 3 more addresses have to be blocked to bypass the update nag. You can do it with Fiddler, which like I said, does not affect your Online-Play unless you have other online stuff running on the computer hosting the Fiddler server. Or you can wait for a new DNS server to come up that blocks these addresses. Here are the addresses that need to be blocked:
http://dauth-lp1.ndas.srv.nintendo.net:443
http://atumn.hac.lp1.d4c.nintendo.net:443
http://aqua.hac.lp1.d4c.nintendo.net:443
Probably because some of those addresses are related to Online-Play. That, or the MK8 online servers also check your Firmware.Update nag gone but i can't access to eshop and mario kart 8 online... and if i remove these three addresses and block just the beach and sun addresses then it tells me to update is required.. i'm sad now.
