Hacking Switch Running 1.0.0 Freezes on Nintendo switch splash screen CFW

Ive tried many different CFW it just locks up when when i try to launch any cfw i used the sd set up guide and had no long with multiple configs.

Is this an issue because im running 1.0.0?

Maybe your SD card is formatted in exfat (1.0.0 doesn't have exfat drivers), if so try to reformat to fat32 (you can use fat32format).

BTW even if you can't boot into cfw, Hekate should work with exfat formatted SD, so (if you haven't already done) before switch to fat32 I suggest you to make a backup of some important things (rawnand, boot0/1, ecc); you can follow this guide.

Once you can boot to cfw just update your console to 6.2.0 with ChoiDujourNX (you can't find firmware files here as they are illegal to share); while updating through ChoiDujourNX keep the AutoRCM option enabled in order to not burn your fuses.

If you boot your custom firmware through modules (like Kosmos) you must also add debugmode=1 to your hekate launch profile (you have to place that string into your hekate_ipl.ini under your [CFW] section), if instead you are chainloading fusee-primary.bin debugmode should be enabled by default (you can be sure by checking if BCT.ini haves debugmode = 1 under [exosphere] section).

Depends on what you mean by 'locking up'.
If your apps/games lock up, then it might indeed be the firmware version.
On the official firmware you can't run the games without the minimum firmware requirement.

If your Switch locks up while booting, then maybe you have some files in the wrong location on your SD card or
you have the wrong files (for a higher version)
CFW should work fine on 1.0.0

But with ChoiDujour you can just upgrade to higher firmware without blowing fuses.
Needless to say : Do make a backup of your NAND in case something goes wrong.

diablos is right in what you should do, backup your nand, boot and biskeys, then use the latest kosmos and hekate to update, note you wont be able to use gamecards if you want to downgrade again properly

Very likely an issue with 1.0.0. I think that you have to enable debug mode.
Also, try fat32 sd.
