Alright so i got a Switch which i had to dowgrade to 5.0.0
Now It says corrupted package2 magic (header 5) or something similar to that. Not that bad since i can upgrade/downgrade manually.
Anyway my switch got low on battery so i plugged it in and nothing. I was doing a full rawnand.bin backup but had to cancel it so that my switch doesnt die completly. now when i try to charge it it doesnt charge at all and the Hekate status is also stated as "Not Charging" despite being plugged in. Is this a software or hardware issue?

What? The first thing you did with your new switch was try to downgrade? Did you have a nand backup on 5.0? And why would you downgrade anyway?

It wasnt a new switch. Also i originally wanted to downgrade to 6.2 to get the Splatoon 2 RomFS but then the program only can do 5.0.0 or 6.0.0 and lower. And i only had a Boot0/1 Backup.

If you only had boot0 and boot1 then how did you downgrade?

With a softbrick it is normal that your switch does not charge.
In Hekate however it should change. Don't try to change on PC, plug it into the wall charger once you pushed the payload.

You said you have used a generic USB charging cable right?
That might be the culprit behind all of this.
It's been stated and documented numerous tines before that you should pay attention to what you plug into your switch's USB port.
Low end cables could fry your switches motherboard and charging unit.
You most likely have messed something up by doing so.
be mindful of what you will use to charge your switch in the future.
here's a list of official recommended USB C cables for use on the switch.

Side note to downgrading. You should try to rebuild your NAND with Choice once you have fixed up the charging issues.
and never rush headlong into doing further downgrades without proper backups kept safe somwhere in your PC. why downgrade your switch for something as insignificant as a splatoon RomFS to begin with?

So what youre saying is that my switch could possibly have a hardware fault and i should check my chargers (cable or that adapter you put in the socket?) before trying to charge my switch (which could work) with them.

There's no need to check the charging cable. The charging cable could be fine but it might have damaged your switch's charging unit.

I wanted to mod Splatoon 2 and i wasnt aware of methods not requiring Firmware under 6.2.0

So just test other cables and see if they charge my switch.

I’m pretty sure they’re saying your switch is fried and the only way to fix it is to do a port replacement. It’s common in all electronics, spending money on expensive official device cables/chargers suck but it’s worth it to keep your device safe. I’ve learned this the hard way.
