I highly recommend following this guide to definitely find out if your console is patched or not. And while you do still need a jig to enter RCM, the jig can be substituted with anything conductive such as a paperclip or screwdrivers. A full list of replacements that the community devised can be found here.

My condolences. If you have the chance to acquire an SX Core, I highly recommend doing so because that may be the only way to hack your console.

I will be jailbreaking my unpatched switch (OFW 10.2.0) for the first time. I mostly want to play Monster Hunter Rise and have a few questions:

1. Can I install Atmosphere 0.14.3 (OFW 10.2.0 support)? I heard that only 10.2.0 is required to play the base game of Rise.

2. Or is it recommended to update OFW to 12.0 (and installing latest version of Atmosphere 0.19.0) prior to jailbreaking the Switch?

I would recommend using the latest atmosphere and updating your system firmware to 11.0.1 once in cfw. Theres really no advantage to 10.2.0 over it, and you lose out on playing some newer games/updates.

Theyre very hard to find because they arent being officially sold anymore, you can only find them on sites like aliexpress. Ive heard upwards of $150.

Try clearing sysmodules and turning off all cheats/mods

I don't really recommend updating with a homebrew app because there might be a bug or other issue with the app itself. Updating manually is always the best choice.

Ok, and manually, you mean just placing the new hekate_ctcaer_5.5.5.bin into the payloads folder?

Or there are any more files that need to be updated besides that one?

Inject the new bin file via your payload injection method, move the new bootloader folder onto the sd

Out of interest had anyone had any issues with AWOO installer and ns-usbloader on either FW 12.0 and/or Atmosphere v19.0 ?

For me, it all seems to start transferring over LAN fine but then AWOO Installer stays on "preparing installation" and the ns-usbloader returns to a state where it thinks nothing is being sent to the Switch ?

EDIT: Nevermind - it seems to be working now

Apps that run in the background, like emuiibo. Get a fresh atmosphere copy directly from atmospheres github, add sigpatches and only siglatches, and try the game. If that doesn't work then all I can guess is maybe there's a firmware issue.

but since TX is down i figure why not try something new. my sdcard is just the way i like it so just removing the .dat file?
