Im not sure if it use the same cable. I mean you can look up RP2040 Picofly and see the cable see if they are the same or not, I mean worse case you just going have to send it to someone to solder if you can't solder.

So here it goes - I have not touched my switch firmware in quite a while, but now my little guy wants to play Metroid 4. I have a copy I am about to pick up at the library, but I worry that when I pop it in it will not work

I am on 18.1.0 AMS 1.7.1 E

I tried to figure this out on my own, but go stuck pretty quickly. It seems like I need to update to play - firmware 19 official? But I also heard that firmware messes with your system, battery drain, etc. Is it that bad? If so- we can hold off and skip the game. Likewise, I read in the notes on updated versions of atmosphere that less memory was available leading to instability in some patches and incompatibility of some apps. Is this still the case?

If updating is the way to go - any good guide anyone can link to so I know the best safe way to go?

I read I need to patch the game with DBI installer. I am on DBI 658 en. Which version should I use and is there a recommended place to get it?

I am sorry - I know this post is asking a lot. Thank you to anyone up for a bit of hand holding on this one. Also - if you think this should just be its own thread - let me know please. Im not sure if it is a bit much for this section here.

Battery issue can be fixed with some lines in a config, as you go higher in firmware the amount of memory for homebrew goes down, going from 18.x.x goes from 40MB to 24MB, and firmware 20.x.x and 21.x.x have 14MB.

Can I ask you - going from 40 to 24 seems like a bad move. As a user, is it something I will notice, or does it only makes a difference on paper?

Depends on if you use a lot of sysmodules or not, for example like if you used salty NX, and mission control, pokemon games won't run because there is not enough memory.

I am attempting to install a game but I get this error 2002-4058 0x1fb402. My switch is on FW 1.9.1 (with matching hekate, fusee.bin and sigpatches), and I tried both Goldleaf and Awoo installer, but the NSP wont install at all (I can install other games just fine).

I also just updated to sys-patch-v1.5.9 and it still wont install.

Just got a used V1 Switch. Is the paperclip method still the safest way to enter RCM, or should I just buy a jig? Thanks for the guide!

Just buy/print a jig. You will probably only use it once and after that lose it in some house moving like me.

But still, better safe than sorry.
 
how do i access and enable cheats on my switch?
do i need edizon/breeze/edizonse/edizon overlay/teslaoverlay?
i just wanna unlock the items in crashteamracing nitrofuelled
 
Hi, would like to ask if these topics can be posted, I think there should be nothing wrong, but not sure. Haven't seen any post about them, but some have asked for similar tools, and there was no clear/working replies, or I could not find them.

1.- Dump your physical games for use with mig-tool NOT USING THE MIG-DUMPER THING. (Didn't find info and tried myself. Works. Tested with snowbross special, will tests the others.)
2.- Make your digitally purchased games for use with mig-switch. (About to start investigation hehe)
3.- Tool for converting your existing XCIs with certificate to mig compatible format. (Needs more investigation, not ready. Redumping a ton of games sucks, too long).

Only phyiscal cart, doesn't work if you have no cert, just going to be banned if you don't you own copy of the game that you dump.

You can use edizon or breeze they should work fine, up to you if you want to use overlay, some people like to use overlay as it easier without going to the homebrew menu each time.

Hi, thanks for the reply. My idea is not go online on the mig-switch. Have a modded switch that I only use for offline. I would be testing the NSPs on that. The digital or physical games I bought legally, can be played online on unmodded console with 0 risk hehe. But, would still be nice to have my bought games on the modded switch, not downloading weird stuff

just updated to FW 20.5.0 on emuMMC with atmosphere 1.9.5 with sys-patch and all games boot normally except whenever I hit the home button or return to the home menu, I get a message saying "unable to download some data as the system version is out of date. Please update your system". I noticed both profile icons have exclamation points next to them now so used Linkalho to unlink accounts but message still pops up. Turned on airplane mode but the original message still pops up. anyone know how to stop this? thanks!
