So I recently acquired a Switch Lite that was showing no signs of life. It seemed dead but when i took it apart I found a FFC inside wasn't connected. Reconnected it and it works fine. Happy days!
Accept now I've noticed the volume up button doesn't adjust the volume.

I have traced all lines from the volume button back to the switch lite motherboard and there is a component missing right by the ffc connector (see red ring in the image) which happens to be where the trace from the volume up button leads.

I'm not sure what this component would be.

Does anyone have any ideas??

I tested the component (circled yellow in the image in the first post) but it was open circuit, so I guess not a resistor, zero ohm link etc.

Then I found an image of the same area of the board on Google and it seems to be a different component anyway. It's black in colour.

I've seen similar looking components nearby but I'm not having any luck getting a good reading from them with my multi meter for some reason.

If anyone has a switch lite apart would you mind trying to measure it for me?

I ordered the above parts from AliExpress.

It's so small that it's impossible to see and solder it with your own eyes.

Since I don't have an electron microscope, I used the 10x zoom of my wife's Galaxy S22 Ultra.

It doesn't look in good condition because it was installed only with a soldering iron.
However, if you listen to reviews in the Korean community, it is said that there is no problem with operation even if the smd is installed upside down.

Finally, the volume + button finally worked.
There is an SMD 1% 150R resistor on the 2019 version of the light board,

but it was not installed on devices from 2022 or later.
In the midst of my confusion, the thread above was very helpful in fixing my Switch Lite.
