Thats not true, the n64 was only a little worse than ps1. The gamecube was stronger than the ps2. Nes and SNES were up to par. Nintendo has been giving us the short end of the stick lately.
This has already been pointed out. I should edit that post. I should not have said "never" cared about, maybe "for the past decade."

N64 I think had better graphics processing than PS1. Hell, PS1was HORRENDOUS at rendering textures, but it wasn't quite as blurry as n64 and it also used a standard media format, which drew in a far greater number of third parties.

n64 was my first console so naturally I am in love with it. I just remember nintendo to be so much different.

Again, the main issue isn't criticism.. it's the flat out hatred seething from some people.

Hatred for a console? If people dont like it why get mad and attack them lol. I think its honestly pathetic that some people get offended when you criticize nintendo. People say they hate Justin Bieber and he is a real person yet we aren't allowed to dislike an inanimate object? Seems legit.

I had a conversation with my dad back in those days when those systems were competing, and we came to the conclusion that the PlayStation was going for a photorealistic, gritty look while Nintendo was more stylized and "cartoony." I think when I was a kid I preferred my N64 over my PS1. PS1 had a lot of (IMO) what we would call shovelware these days, while the 64 had Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time, so quality over quantity I guess. Of course, the PS1 was also at a place that held a lot of bad memories for me, while the n64 was at a house that was an escape from all that, so maybe that skews my view a little bit.

tl;dr: Nintendo! I am disappoint.

Company, it's a company.

No we are talking about the switch. Its an inanimate object. If people dont like it why do you get offended? I understand you getting offended over someone insulting your mother, but you didnt even make this product. If people dont like it thats their perogative.

Age of empires 2, year 2000, every day full rooms playing it....why? Because is intemporal game, is eternal !! Great games make consoles, and nintendo have this ability but I dont like of nintendo, i like some games from nintendo, easy... i just play and go out, tomorrow i remember but i cant play it again.

Power is just an illusion- it's all about playing games and having fun that matters.

I know you have some problem with reason.. but you want to legitimately criticize? More power to you.. You want to pound away at your keyboard like some dumbass little child and just talk shit? There's a problem.

Said it three times now. Pay attention.

Biased hatred is among some of the dumbest things I can find on the internet.. Seeing it on the forums where a good majority of us are above 20? Yeah....

Its kind of the same concept as a city with 2 teams. People tend to pick one team and then hate the other one. Sure there are plenty of reasonable people who don't hate either, but most people like to pick a side and blindly defend it.

Not going to lie, I am what you would call a Nintendo fan boy, but I don't have any hate for the others, I had a PS3 and am also a PC gamer. I just happen to like Nintendo the best and can't see why so many people hate it. I doubt people would like to see the gaming scene right now if Nintendo never existed.

The freaking hatred wars between Intel vs AMD and Nvidia vs AMD is the worst.
There is no logic why you want the other to fail, it's a benefit for us all if there are more options available.

That's one for the PCMR sub, lmfao. I actually hate talking to some people about computers because of this very thing.

Exactly. Its the only reason CPUs go for $200-$1,000 instead of $2,000-$3,000.

Honestly imo power means nothing all power is for now is for photorealistic graphics. But a game can still be fun even if it isn't super high res. Nintendo had always been really good at making games look nice in an artistic way instead of a photorealistic way.
Plus I have PC for my high end games.
Along with that people seem to miss the point that it has the ability to be portable. Yes you can play BOTW on Wii U, but you can't take that with you on the go. Plus why invest any more money into a dead console. BOTW is the last first party game for Wii U, and chances are the system won't get anything new shortly after. Even yooka-laylee was cancelled on Wii U and moved to switch.

The biggest issue I have with the Switch right now? It's an experiment. Something completely different to the console market. It's not a new concept by any means.. as it's literally a tablet with an included dock... but Nintendo is taking a huge risk here.

I prefer function over form. Graphics are great and all, but if the game isn't good, then why does it matter?

That's not true. You don't know Nintendo's history if you think that.

They tried going with power (N64 and Gamecube), a lot of good that did.

Overpriced, underspec'd, software selection.
Two of those could be fixed, and then it'd actually be a good system, worth buying and everything, but not right now. Right now, it's only for early adopters.

Critique isn't hating. People should stop feeling offended all the time calling people out " you're just hating". You can still like something while criticizing it. There's nothing wrong with that. Criticizing should always be ok since it makes the company you love grow but these last years fanboyism and especially in Nintendo area has been on the rise that everything is considered hateful and you can't criticize anything anymore. The gaming community sure got toxic as hell. Why can't people just share what they think without it turning in an all out war having to defend every single word you're typing down

That's what happens when you use a limited storage format...

I keep seeing these two words together.. yet no one can give any proof as to how they came to this opinion.

Genuinely curious, why do people believe this? A link would be great.
