This release adds support for micro SD cards via Serial Port 2 on GameCube consoles where that port exists. It requires a small PCB and the compatibility/speed is the same as using an SD card via the front memory card ports. The main benefit is that it leaves the 2 front slots free for a memory card and any other peripherals you might require in games.

That being said, the alternate read patches (which are now the default) have basically been rewritten by @Extrems since the last release and should be much more stable and compatible. 2-disc support has been added into these patches but audio streaming is still only available via the old non alternate patches for now.

This pcb allows a micro sd card to adpated into serial port2 of the gamecube.

The PCB must be ordered in 1.2mm thickness. Surface finish must be ENIG at minimum. I recommened https://jlcpcb.com for PCB production

BOM:
C1: 0805 22u Capactior (10V Min) - DigiKey Part# 490-10511-2-ND
J1: MicroSD Slot - DigiKey Part# WM6825CT-ND

Unassembled kits will be available for purchase at my webstore soon: https://shop.dansprojects.com

Special thanks to:
MockyLock for the idea
Extrems & emu_kidid for doing the real work needed to make this possible

Nice! That board looks like it's easy enough to assemble if you don't have two left hands, only problem is I can't find that micro sd slot here in Germany and Digikey claims it'll take nine weeks to deliver if I understand that website correctly. Anyone has an alternative? The ones listed at e.g. conrad.de don't look compatible.

So how do you go about using these boards and swiss exactly?
Do you just put the swiss.dol on the micro SD and it will boot as normal or do you have to do something else?

I currently use a chip and swiss boot disk method.

I am also curious how you use the SD2PS2 board? Do you need to boot to the Action Replay disc first or something?

You need to be able to boot homebrew, so yes. Exploitable game with modified saves, AR/SD Media Launcher, or modchip.

This can be useful for SD Media Launcher users as well. SD Media Launcher has 2GB limit, so you could boot swiss off the SDGecko on slot B then when swiss is booted you can browse stored files off of a larger memory card in SP2. This would save users from constantly swapping to larger SD cards.
