    Emulator Details and Functionality
The iPlayer GBA emulator was ported by DarkChen (possibly the Supercard team) from gPSP, a PSP GBA emulator coded by eXophase. The emulator was the first non-Slot2 option for running GBA games on the NDS console and made use of the extra hardware in the iPlayer cartridge. The port contains much of the same functionality as the original PSP version including:
    • Fast Forward
    • Frame Skip
    • Save States
    • GameShark/Pro Action Replay Cheat Engine (basic)
    • Screenshot Function
    • Key Remapping
    Emulator Compatibility List
I have briefly test ROMs 0001-400 with as well as a few other random games with version 1.13 of the SCDS2 GBA emulator. Results can be viewed here and will be updated when I have time to test others. All ROMs were tested with the default emulator settings and sound off style_emoticons/default/frown.gif.

    Cheat Engine Details

    GBA Emulator pre-v1.21

The code engine of the emulator supports a subset of both the GS/ARv1 and GS/ARv3 codes. All code names are prefixed by PAR_V1/PAR_V3 to identify which version of the cheat engine should be used to process the cheat. An example code file may look like the following:

    CODE
    PAR_V3 Infinite Health

    D99AF663 20121177
    C18C2408 3E2C7C45

    PAR_V3 Infinite Lives
    D628B26F 5B7A0BE7

    PAR_V3 Max Blue Orbs
    5D950E63 62B970BC

    PAR_V3 Moonjump
    0D4C7208 2097B3A3

Unfortunately the cheat engine of the emulator is extremely limited. Firstly only 30 code names can be loaded per code file. All codes after the initial 30 will not be displayed.

Supported GameShark/Pro Action Replay v1 Codes (details)
    • Normal RAM Write Codes: 0x0, 0x1, 0x2
    • 32-Bit Group Write: 0x3
    • 16-Bit ROM Patch: 0x6
    • 16-Bit Multiline If Equal To: 0xE
Supported GamShark/Pro Action Replay v3 Codes (details)
    • Normal RAM Write Codes: 0x00, 0x02, 0x04
    • Pointer RAM Write Codes: 0x40, 0x42, 0x44
    • Add Codes: 0x80, 0x82, 0x84
    • Write to IO Registers: 0xC6, 0xC7
    GBA Emulator post-v1.21

Version 1.21 of the GBA emulator had a completely reworked cheat engine (for the worse?) instead of using Pro Action Replay/GameShark codes it now uses the same format codes as the M3 flash cartridges. These cheats can be downloaded from http://cheats.gbatemp.net/GBA/.

    FAQ

Q: Why the iPlayer GBA Emulator over a Slot2 choice like the EZ-Flash 3in1?
    • ROMs load almost instantly (can take a few minutes on the 3in1).
    • Fast Forware, Frame Skip, Save States, Cheat Engine (some Slot1/Slot2 combos also support cheats), Screenshot Function, Key Remapping.
    • Only 1 cartridge needed for both NDS and GBA games.
    • No need to worry about an internal battery losing charge and not being able to save a game.
    • Supports RTC (Real Time Clock), many Slot2 devices do not support RTC.
Q: Why a Slot2 choice like the EZ-Flash 3in1 over the iPlayer GBA Emulator?
    • Slot2 devices have almost 100% GBA compatibility whereas the emulator is currently lacking in compatibility.
    • With a Slot2 device it is sometimes possible to unlock features in NDS games. With the emulator this is not possible.
Q: Can I increase the compatibility of the emulator with "magic"?
    • Err... not exactly magic but if you copy game_config.txt to the NDSGBA folder in the root of the microSD card it will fix games such as Pokemon, Kirby - Nightmare in Dreamland and Super Mario 4! allowing them to run without being patched. Credits go to the original compilers of the game_config.txt for gPSP.
Q: Does the GBA Emulator support RTC (Real Time Clock) for the Pokemon games?
    • As of version 1.21 the GBA emulator supports RTC however it should be noted that during my brief test of the games the RTC doesn't always seems to be the correct time and was often between 15 and 45 minutes incorrect.
Q: Can the game screen of the GBA emulator be switched?
    • As at v1.21 the NDS-GBA emulator doesn't support switching the top and bottom screen.
Q: Does the GBA emulator support stretching the game to fit the screen or does it support custom frames?
    • As at v1.21 the NDS-GBA emulator doesn't support stretching the game to fit the screen or custom frames.
Q: I want to put lots of GBA games on my microSD but they take up too much room (:wtf:), how can I save some space?
    • The NDS-GBA emulator supports loading ROMs from compressed archives. Each GBA ROM must be in a separate ZIP archive and the emulator only supports loading of compressed ROMs up to 16MB (?).

ARCrypt can help you convert codes. Also support game genie.

Well, I've tried both, and neither of them worked.

I found out the reason I was having troubles converting the codes when I tried using ARCrypt, After looking at the GBA code types for the code breaker cheat device I saw:

9yyyyyyy yyyy - Change encryption seeds.

went and checked the mastercode and doh! the first line changes the encryption seed and I had only ever tried to convert single codes... so to convert the codes to a format which can be used by gPSP/iPlayer/SCDS2/iPhone emulators you should:

    1. If the codes are encrypted you should make sure you have the code(s) which change the encryption seed in the 1st text box.
    2. Select "CBA" in the "From" panel.
    3. Select AR v3/4 in the "To" panel.
    4. Press "Proceed", copy the codes to notepad and add PAR_V3 before each code name.

Remember to keep in mind that the cheat engine doesn't support all code types so there is a possibility that not all codes will work.

Added some information to help you get Pokemon, Super Mario Advance 4, Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland, Tales of Phantasia and Dragon Ball Z Legacy of Goku II (J) to work correctly. Also updated the compatibility list.

I hope this helps some people out [IMG]

I have been able to make work the KH COM on DSTWo, I´ll explain you the steps to follow:

1ºRun GBA's emulator and go to "tools", once inside we activate " The Sands of time "

2ºRun the KH COM rom and start a new game.

3º When the video stops press "L+Y" and the video will continue(but with bad quality), if the video continues stopping press "L+Y" again

With this easy method we´ll arrive to the castle and we´ll be able to continue with our game

Thought I'd let people know this since it's not on the list
Megaman Zero 2 and 3 has these horrible scan lines when you try to play it. Not unplayable but I wouldn't play it like that.

I haven't found one, but does anyone know if theres a way of switching the top and bottom screens?

Also, are there any further ways of button remapping? I was hoping I'd be able to map L/R to X/Y for games like Mega Man Zero [IMG]

I don't know if you can switch screens, but I do know that in one of the categories in the GBA menu there was an option to remap buttons.

He meant to change the black borders into something different, but I don't believe that is possible (yet).

Weird... Is it just me or is Castlevania - Circle of the Moon not working? Once I go past the title screen, the game just freezes, only the music keep playing... [IMG]

Not sure if people know this already.

When putting GBA Roms into NDSGBA\gamepak directory, you can leave them in there zipped state and they load up in the emulator like that.

Thought it`s a little tip that will save a bit of space on your SDcard.
