Before doing anything with Disk Imager, you should first try and make sure the reader is actually detecting the mlc chip..
Start, Run , type diskmgmt.msc
In the Disk Management window, do you see a 29.7 GB unformatted / unallocated partition ( it will appear black ) ?
If yes, then continue experimenting with Win32 Disk Imager ..
If NO , then go back and troubleshoot card reader, soldering , etc.. If you don't see the 29.7 gb partition , then all you're accessing is the the reader itself with no detectable chip connected. (also make sure your
R26 CLK trace cut was done)
If you're confident of your solder job and trace cut , here's how it should work
1. R26 (if using a jumper, should be be set to CLK of SD card)
2. Connect the sd card to the Reader, and insert the reader to the PC
3. Power up the WiiU ( blue light should come on , but nothing will appear on the gamepad )
4. Windows should automatically
pop up saying you've inserted an unformatted drive (DO NOT FORMAT, just cancel)
5. Then Proceed to either read the MLC or write back if you have an existing backup from your own console. Note you may need to run Win32 Disk Imager as Administrator
