Not really a necessary post since most of the post here about 3DS hacking won't work. And any real progressing in the 3DS hacking is posted here and even then very little is said. Anyone who is working on the 3DS homebrews isn't saying much because they already know that saying too much will compromise it.

It doesn't matter how little is said
'An exploit with webkit on the 3ds browser' is enough for nintendo to fix it.

With little to no details.
Not to mention the moment the hack is released Nintendo will have already started fixing it. That's the name of the game when it comes down to modding. You mod, they fix, you mod again. Not talking about it won't change it.

But if they exploit successfully and people dont need the eShop they have no need to update and the modders win.
Think about it.

Seriously? z.z

Besides, most theories said here are for fun and completely impossible to even accomplish, there's no need to worry about it, besides, it's not like a hack will be released tomorrow or whatever... It'll still take time. z.z

That would imply that the mods are used for more than homebrews and homebrew =/= piracy. Yes it can lead to it, but it does equal it.
Also Nintendo always finds away to fix it, there is no such thing as a foolproof hack.

There is usually never anything called foolproof coding either. Especially if a mistake is at a too low of a level to be patched via normal software lol.

And that is how exploits are found. It's the circle of life ^_^

Then what would be the point of this forum, what would be the point of anything if no one hears what's happening.

Nothing really useful has been shared with the general public. It could be years before you're playing ROMs despite the progress so far.

To give you an example there was a PS3 exploit that no one shared until someone tried to sell it. So you kinda have to root for the Chinese in this case, once they start selling something you'll have someone step up and release it for free to satisfy their ego :P

This forum is to house a community of like-minded people who share information that is already public domain. The hackers generally won't use these forums - it's much safer to use other channels until the hacks are ready to be released.

FYI, the hacks won't be released any time soon. In case you haven't been following the news, they're trying to use existing exploits to map out the functions of the 3DS and find better vectors to break Ninty's security.

Maybe, just maybe, if we continue to post about it, we can actually wish it into reality... [/fairy-dust]

OP wants to pirate games.

Sorry but that's still a long way off.
The console/handheld is hacked for Linux first.
Then homebrewers come along and make emulators and other stuff.
And finally, pirates take over.

It's inevitable but wishing for a console to be hacked for piracy is just bad ._.

If you can't use the hack in any way, what's the point of releasing it? That's basically the situation at the moment. Not talking about the progress makes it even harder for all the participants in the hacking process to communicate.

Let's look at it, at a logical stand point;
If we keep documenting/showing off or discussing Flashcards, exploits or anything else Nintendo will do something about it as they clearly have done, if you think they don't regularly check these sorts of forums for the very exploits I am discussing then you are being ignorant. They do not want any sort of exploit to become apparent in there latest chuck of technology and cause heavy losses for them and the game developers developing 3DS games, as they know the backlash of the DS game developments going down hill thanks to flash cards. We can pretend all we want but the reason everyone want's an exploited to be discovered and utilized is for decrypting, and releasing playable 3DS rom's on flashcards as to save our money and play what we want when we want. If the issue was homebrew apps for the 3DS we can already do that, we could utilize the new screen size and at least some of the features, if not it's not like the exploiting is going to open this huge new market of new amazingly graphical homebrew games or apps.
We can all pretend because of legallities the site follows but we want this so we do not have to pay for over priced games that the 3DS has to offer.

If we did start hiding any fidings to private IRC's, and i mean private, we could make actual progress in exploitation so why not shut your mouths, encourage 3Dbrew to keep things on the down load and just showoff exploits instead of explaining them unless they have already been patched and everyone can enjoy a new exploted system sooner rather then later.

Yeah, places should totally fire up an anti-Nintendo barrier that magically prevents anybody from Nintendo to access it. Because I mean there's totally a way to tell people who work for Nintendo or will willingly give them information from people who won't across the internet.

Hey, remember Demonoid? They were private, right?

Sarcasum is the lowest form of wit.
I'm not saying we try and find who the Nintendo staff viewing the site are, nor try and hide it from them specifically; Just let hackers or crackers do their own thing and leave it out of the public eye until they strike success.
