I've recently gotten Battlefront, and can't decide what controller to use. I've narrowed my decision down to 2 candidates: the Steam Controller and the Razer Sabertooth. Some useful information would be 1, I'm a PC gamer, 2, i can get them both for $50, 3, I can only buy one, 4, I'm willing to try either, and 5, I currently kinda stink with my standard 360 game pad.

Solution
I'd say Steam controller, but this is just based on your options. Personally I do fine with the X360 controller sitting on my desk, but I may buy steam controller at some point for testing. While probably a solid controller, I don't see much future and longevity in Razer's option as the 360/X1 is the defacto Windows controller while Steam Controller is Valve's option. Most else are moot or at least a minor hassle compared to benefits, especially if you don't own a controller already.
A new controller won't make you magically better. I actually prefer the Xbox One Controller. It's now wireless via adapter. It's so comfortable, the triggers are fantastic and the thumbsticks have lovely concave to them.

I'm just looking for a controller to use so I can lean back and play, and i figured these were the best options considering the customization they both offer. Having little to no skill on Xbox, it seems that controllers like these would really help lessen my handicap

Keyboard and mouse is the most accurate.
Make sure to enable raw input for the mouse ingame and turn off any mouse acceleration.
Also disable "enhance pointer precision" in mouse settings.

I'm aware that a controller can't beat keyboard/mouse, I just want to know which controller is best for me because I just like the feel of using controllers a lot more

If you're having trouble with your 360 pad then another controller probably won't fix it for you. If there a specific issue you have with the 360 pad?

I went with the Steam Controller, and I think it's great, if I don't like something, I can change it, if a game is KB/M only, not a problem! Thanks, Qtis!
