It is probably the updated firmware, you need to at least have the firmware that allows DL disks to be read by the Wii.
If you did the install of the chip, putting a switch on it shouldn't be too big of an issue. I believes its only two wires...
I recommend cutting a slot for it near the fan and running it out that way. I'm really happy with how I placed it.

Some people really dont know the mean of patience. This all reminds me of zelda phantom hour for the DS. It had copy protection, but the scene did break it soon after, just have a bit more patience everyone. People are working hard on it.

You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60
