Hacking Spoof ORAS version?

Is there any way to spoof the version of a game (pokemon alpha sapphire) to version 1.4 so that i can play online without actually updating it?
reason is: i installed a translated version of the game's cia, and when i update the game through eshop, the translation is gone.

i dont believe so . . . even if you could you would run into problems if they changed the stats and/or moves of pokemon

edit: also the game is actually available in English
