But seriously for some reason I actually feel sad about it...

Nuclear shuttles anyone?

It's a pity that it ends, but I guess another type of method to get to space is/was bound to take its place..

spacex's falcon 9 rocket is the replacement vehicle. It will dock with the space station in september and possibly supply it with water and food.

also on another note...
it turns out russia went one better than USA with their own version of the spaceshuttle which was more reliable, lighter, and could reach other worlds!

I think the future looks very good with falcon 9.

we need to start researching how to colonize planets in this galaxy too, hopefully before the next inter-galactic council convenes and votes the Alkari as Master of the Universe.

or before Vogons disintegrate the Earth to make way for an Intergalactic Highway.

This is pretty disappointing.

NASA's funding sucks. In case you didn't know, the US Army’s A/C bill in Iraq is greater than the entire NASA budget. The US government is better off funding NASA more than the army. NASA has come up with many more scientific breakthroughs than the army.
