Sony announces specs and customization features for Spider-Man on PC

Sony has announced some new features for its upcoming PC port of their 2018 Spider-Man game, a PlayStation exclusive up until now. Some of the features are include support for the PS5's DualSense controller, allowing users to experience the adaptive trigger feedback and haptic response present in the PS5 version of the game. Mouse and keyboard support wil also be an option, and inputs will be highly customizable with Steam Input. Cloud saves and achievements will also be supported on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Of course, the PC port will also feature a number of visual and performance customization options, which can be seen below:

  • Ray-traced reflections are available across the game for those with hardware that supports them. Reflections also have varied quality levels, one of which is a new, higher-quality ray-traced mode that offers even more city detail when web-swinging and fighting crime in Marvel’s New York.
  • NVIDIA DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) increases graphics performance using dedicated Tensor Core AI processors found only on GeForce RTX GPUs, boosting frame rates with uncompromised image quality.
  • NVIDIA DLAA (Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing) is an AI-based anti-aliasing mode for GeForce RTX gamers who have spare GPU headroom and want higher levels of image quality.
  • Beyond choosing output resolutions, we also support a wide range of display ratios, including ultrawide 21:9, panoramic 32:9, and NVIDIA Surround multi-monitor setups.* If you’ve got three monitors, we’ve got the game for you to show them off with!
  • Many other rendering systems are more customizable than they have been in the past, with additional quality levels and algorithmic options. These include SSAO, texture filtering, LoD quality, shadows, and more. We support windowed, full screen, and exclusive full screen rendering modes.

Sony also released the specs, which are relatively light for the minimum requirements, only asking 8gb of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 (or AMD equivalent) and an Intel Core i3-41. The full specs can be seen in the image below:

Finally, pre-orders launched on Steam and the Epic Games Store today, and some pre-order bonuses alongside them. The bonuses are fairly minimal, however, only offering early access to a few costumes and abilities before they can be unlocked in the regular game, as well as 5 extra skill points.

Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered will launch on August 12 for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, and will come with all three DLC chapters of The City That Never Sleeps, an expansion released originally for the PS4 version.

While no date has been given yet, the Miles Morales spin-off is also expected to hit PC sometime in Fall of this year.

I wonder if Spider-Man will break Skyrim's record for the number of identical versions of the game?

some of the best selling games on the switch are wii u ports (that are priced way too high

  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
$60 for a game that's a decade old might be unheard of on PC but actually is not uncommon on consoles

especially Nintendo because they only ever lower the price of games when they do a greatest hits/platinum hits/players choice re-release
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@The Real Jdbye, and the HD collections released for 7th gen consoles too
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but they don't seem to have done any of those for the switch yet and maybe never will

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@The Real Jdbye, tbh the HD collections are more justified since they include more than just 1 game per copy
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ I read that non-binary people identify as a blend of male and female. The point is i think i'm a blend of those and thus non binary
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Non-binary people are those who don't identify themselves exclusively as male or female.
