Why the op of the port sonic mania make cia with no assets or get a noob installation for the 3ds port? of course you need to provide you own sonic mania assets files from steam.

Edit:Im saying noob cia installation because in this thread many people are making the cia with some errors,it would be good if the author of the port helps providing a good cia like the super mario 64 decompilation.
It is just 3ds news my friend i didnt make anything of this you have to do it yourself unfortunely and why asking for a cia here just make a new thread about it and ask it there this one is for people that understand how to build this that way as of now yes a cia would be nice but dont ask to the wrong guy lol.

I finally got to try it earlier, aside from the well known issues like long loading times and lack of sound it ran decently, though there’s no icon when launched from zhBC (should I create my own?) anyway I saw some videos using a CIA file is there one available?

As for the Windows version you made I tested it earlier as well, no luck, it kept asking for missing dll files and the more I feed it the hungrier it got, this is why I don’t do PC (or cellphones) They need constant maintenance, one day you think you got it running the next day your software is no longer supported.
the only dll file it asked me for was SDL2.dll. what all did it ask you for? chances are you need a visual c++ library, so you shouldn't just keep downloading dll files unless you know where they come from. you can get visual c++ from microsoft's website.

How well do special stages and the like run so far?
I didn't test much beyond whether the game worked. I'm sure they're slow though, but the title screen seemed to be close to full speed. there's no sound currently as it hasn't been implemented yet.

Hmm, just discovered something : if you extract Data.rsdk to 3ds/SonicMania/Data (can't remember how - I used some extraction tool - I've got long covid so a bit fuzzy brained at the moment) load times seem ~2x faster and perhaps an extra few fps in the 3d special stages ? My guess is by extracting the RSDK archive it saves the 3ds from having to extract assests on the fly. Unsure. To test make sure you rename data.rsdk to data.rsdk.old or whatnot to prevent loading that
I'll try on wiiu later on to see if any gains etc

Nope - wiiu hard crash - tried extracting to /RSDK/v5/Data and also to ./v5 - must be hard coded to expect data.rsdk unlike the other builds (tested win and 3ds).

Anyone know if it generates settings.ini anywhere on wiiu sd ?
---Edit --
partial success - it looks frozen after ~5mins - eg no response- but log dump:

Nope!

So: either my impatience or very slow wiiu sd card access rates ? Anyway thats enough of that -going to have a nap for awhile before watching Artemis launch stream

I know what version of sonic mania I'm getting! And it runs well(from the video)? Very impressive! (My guess is that someone is gonna make a cia of this and post it to a piracy website somehow, but still cool)
