Would anyone kindly explain WHAT THE HELL SoftMii is supposed to do? It's not even on their website.

I already have HBC -- what more can this possibly do?

Its the easy way to play backups, use custom themes to make your wii look better, safeguard yourself against bricks, etc.

Contrary to the flamer above, it is actually quite cool!

It gives you Themes and And Allows you to play Backups from the disc channel.
It's awesome really

without a modchip, I assume? I never had luck with the previous Backup Loader, because my burner can't do bitsetting. I don't suppose SoftMii would magically turn my coasters into playable games?

use img burn (which is free and can be found easily on google) to burn the wii-iso onto a dvd-r, preferably of high quality, on a low speed. Thats what I do and I've had one bad disc and 80+ good ones

with softmii you don't really need backup loader, because you will have region free disc loading through the disc channel. Just use GeckoOS if you want to use ocarina cheats

But Waninkoko :
a) Approves this.
b) CREATED THESE FOR SoftMii.
c) Never released source code, anyway.

Also, SoftMii also has:
a) Legal CIOSCORP (seen that anywhere else?)
b) More themes (and legal ones too)
c) LU64 fix AND we now know whats going on with them. Before this, there would be no hope.

How is that not new stuff?

I just love it when one of the softmii team comes on board and post some words and all the dogs starts barking , he goes home and get rest and work on softmii with the rest of the guys and they go on IRC and they have fun and the dogs here still barking

I have been searching around but could not find the answer. If a Wii has a modchip on the drive and has waninkoko's IOS36 rev 10 along with his system 4.0 upgrader, are you able to just put the SoftMii Tweaks into the /app folder on the wii and run it to get custom themes on the wii or does it have to be completely soft modded from the beginning?

I would like to know this too.

I think my post got lost in the shuffle of all the drama. Anyone know if this is possible or if there is another program to do this with a chip

I wanted to ask a similar question. I'm on 4.0E updated with Wanin's updater and have no previous version of SoftMii. So if I install SoftCorp, I'll be able to run backups through the disc channel, right?

Me too, they should stop bringing their packs, and just create skins.

Also, the fact that wanin is working with them, or that they steal things from waninkoko, are both pathetic.
