Android So has anyone seen a Chinese Android *phone* with a gamepad?

I really do love my Xperia Play, but I'd like something with more modern hardware in it. I've seen a bunch of small tablets with attached gamepads, and quite a few Galaxy SIII knockoffs - some of them even run Jelly Bean well, from what I've seen.

I'm just wondering if anyone's seen any sort of phone or at least 3G-capable Chinese device with something akin to the MTK6577 or better inside. I'm guessing that since I haven't already seen it there probably isn't but I haven't really been looking recently.

Eh, Chinese hardware doesn't bother me much if I know the actual specs of what I'm buying first. It's not like any big-name manufacturer has what I'm looking for, anyways.

I've been using Chinese electronics for years (well, so have you... where do you think your phone came from, but I get what you actually mean, 'unofficial' Chinese stuff) and never had any problems - apart from what to do with all the money I've saved from not buying brand names! Yes you need to be careful and do a bit of research, but the OP already seems aware of what chipsets are available in the Chinese marked so I'm sure he knows to take a bit of care.

Unfortunately, there are no Android Chinaphones that I'm aware of at the moment that feature a gamepad.

My recommendation as an informed user on this kind of thing is getting a high end phone (Galaxy S4 or wait for the Note III) and get one of them controller connectivity kits.
There's a mount I once seen on the internet that works universally on all phones for PS3 controller that should work best quality and functionality-wise.

I know it's not very convenient to keep something as big as a DualShock3 controller in your pocket but I at least am very sure you won't regret it nor ever need to replace it.

I like the gametel one, mostly because I crammed the insides into a SNES controller, so now I have a wireless iOS/Android/Desktop SNES controller, looks cool and handles brilliantly.
