Thanks to you sir(s)! Ill give that a try.

As a side note, are nes/snes/gba roms actually illegal to download or is this a grey area now?

Thanks for the cover packs, I know about Fuzzyrenamer but is there any specific set these are already named after? Or just your own personal/custom set you've done?

annoying error in snes9xgx when the rom path cant be found/renamed and you hit the "Cancel" button expecting to be able to go to setting but the app freezes as soon as you hit it. Original snes9xgx doent have the issue with the cancel button bug, it just shows an empty folder and all you have to do is go to the settings and change to the correct path.

Havent tried the other mods so i dont know if they have the same issue

oh im running everything from a USB stick with no SD card

Well, when I first started uppin' sets, all I had was my altered sets that I made for myself in which I removed all the (U) [!] and tags of that nature. Also, when I was doing my vbaGX sets, there are games of the same title between gb/gbc, so I decided to add (GBC) tags to those games so the covers wouldn't overwrite themselves. Now, with the newer sets, I've been keeping a set with the title's how i've found them (with all the tags n such) and then making a seperate set for myself, and have been upping those versions because I figured they might be more common.

Here's the breakdown..
Coversets with unchanged original tags:
Gameboy Classic 3D
Gameboy Color 3D
Gameboy Advance 3D
Gameboy Advance 2D
SNES 2D Carts
SNES 2D Carts PAL

Coversets I had named for myself:
Gameboy Classic 2D
Gameboy Color 2D
NES 2D
NES 3D
NES 3D Cart
SNES 2D
SNES 3D

Illegal because it is still intellectual property. If anything, these "gray areas" might become more defined if some members of Congress have their way.

If mastershoes's names don't match yours, you can use fuzzyrename to match to your roms and this tool, if you need to remove the square bracket tags aftewards. This step is necessary for this app to recognize the image files. It doesn't like things like [C] (for GB Color) or [!] (indicates a good dump), so you have to remove tags in square brackets, and the space preceding them.

It's a known issue that Wiimpathy has stated he has no intention to fix. He is no longer interested in this project, but he has been gracious enough to update it recently, upon our requests.

Thanks for the info, shame to leave a bug like that in, means manually editing the .xml everytime you change/rename folders but not to much of a problem

Wow! You hit the nail on the head. I haven't checked my roms yet but the working 2d covers all have the corresponding country in the file names like (USA) etc. etc. and the 3d ones you posted are just the rom titles. I am thinking it will be less time consuming for me to rename the 3d ones rather than my roms + my 2d covers. Maybe.

Thanks for your help, I will sleep easier knowing what must be done now. :) Thank you.

No problem man!
To make things easy, d/l a program called fuzzy rename, it's awesome for renaming roms/images, and very simple to use. I think there's a link to it in this thread somewhere :) Majority of my newer sets are posted with the (USA, Europe) included, whereas the first ones i posted weren't..
7 @ themanuel: Thanks a TON you guys. Omg, that fuzzy rename is an AWESOME program! What I was willing to spend hours/days on took me about 25 seconds... ok, more like 29.855637 seconds, and did a spot on job. Cheers :)

It would be great if there was a gui choice to choose which folder you want to use rather than having to type it in. Typing with the Wiimote gives me very bad thoughts.

Nope. Settings>Saving & Loading and no browse option whatsoever. :( What is the path on yours to find the browse feature?

Mine doesn't :( On mine, you have to know in advance the new path as it's totally not an intuitive interface. Reminds me a lot of DOS actully.

So both the Snes9xGX and FCEUGX neeeeeed to have a browse feature added I think. That would be superb.

Don't you think you're exaggerating a little with DOS comparison? :D
In fact, you can organize your folders as you want in cover mode by creating folders names finishing with .roms extensions and the corresponding png images.

For example, you have a folder called Hacks.roms with all Super mario hacks roms you put in Super Nintendo.roms and a png called Hacks.png in your covers folders.
You can organize alphabetically too with A.roms etc...
It's quickly explained in the Readme(I know almost everyone doesn't care reading this shit).
It can take 10 minutes to do all of this, but maybe it's not total waste of time...

Vid of Mastershoes to illustrate :

Maybe there's something I don't get with the need to change the paths frequently. There're 2 cases I see : you're switching constantly between regular/cover mods versions or else you want switch covers from 2d to 3d, cartridge and so on ?

I don't see the point either.
Once you have everything working the way you like it, why would you want to keep changing your paths?
Maybe you can give the folders simple names like a, b and c...
