What's the difference between Hekate and Hekate_Nyx?

Also how to update on the RCM Loader thing? I checked and it seems very outdated, but I don't know how it works.

Nyx is the graphic user interface for hekate, older version of hekate doesn't have interface, older version looks like this

If you have a clone, you can't update the payload on it. Thankfully, you don't have to as it'll look for update.bin on your SD card and, if newer, it'll run that one, so there's no real need to update it.

I just get this weird line of hex code when I'm just trying to update smash ultimate I just wanna play modded smash man 😭 I'm on firmware 22.5.0 and It's just makin me very frustrated because I've never encountered this before (and I'm still fairly new to having a cfw switch despite it being like 2 years lol) I'm just really stuck because I downloaded the update file via nxbrew's website and i just don't know what to do

Hekate is the RCM payload and Nyx is the GUI for Hekate. So the Hekate+Nyx package includes both the payload and the gui, plain Hekate only the payload,

I'm using OmniRCM as recommended in switch.hacks.guide and it is quite recent release and updates the payloads automatically as well. IIRC at least Sphaira does payload injects as well.

It seems 13.0.5 came out on September 1st, 2026. Since 23.0.0 came out on September 10, it wouldn't be a firmware issue.

If you've access to another Switch, try updating using match versions locally.

Which title installer did you use? I never run into an issue using latest Russian version of DBI.

Hi, I’m completely new to modding a Nintendo Switch, so please bear with me.

My Switch is on firmware 23.0.0, and I have installed Atmosphère 1.12.0 and Hekate 6.5.4 on emuMMC. When I try to install an NSP through Goldleaf, I get this error:

“An error occurred attempting to install the NSP — Error 2145-0001.”

Could anyone explain in simple terms what this error means and whether Goldleaf supports firmware 23.0.0? Thanks!

¡Gracias!
Try with DBI or The Goonies App.

sys-patch is out of date. that error code refers to the ES module, a ticket error.

Thanks for the reply. I’m completely new to this, so I’m not sure what “sys-patch,” the “ES module,” or a “ticket error” means. Could you please explain it in simpler terms? Does Goldleaf itself need an update for firmware 23.0.0, or is the issue somewhere else?

First of all, since you're on 23.0.0, DO NOT connect to the Internet without blanking your prodinfo first. DNS MITM doesn't work in the Atmosphere 1.12.0, wait for 1.12.1 which will include the fix.

Second, here's the sys-patch: https://github.com/borntohonk/sys-patch/releases Simply put, it'll make your games work.
Third, Goldleaf should work on the latest firmware but, in case it doesn't, I'd suggest giving latest Russian DBI a try: https://github.com/rashevskyv/dbi/releases You can use Google Lens if you're having trouble navigating through the app. I yet to run into an issue while installing games with DBI.

I'm not sure if 1.6.2.3 is up-to-date for 23.0.0/AMS 1.12.0
It should work, bth mentioned that it doesn't require an update, even for latest 23.0.1 firmware.

Updated oled to 22.5.0 with daybreak, used latest hats, gave blue screen on cfw launch.
Deleted atmos folder from there and installed from official download. Can boot in but randomly get the atmos crash

What am I doing wrong?

HATS issue, maybe? I haven't checked in a while but I think it has more stuff than you usually need. Remove all sys-modules you don't really need and try to have only the important ones. Just grab the latest fresh Atmosphere, hekate and sys-patch and build atop of that. I'd advise against updating to the latest firmware until Atmosphere 1.12.1 comes out and DNS MITM fix with it.
