I'd be nice if they could take some time and get the bugs out of the features they already have before adding another layer of features that work like crap.

I'm expecting something about snemulds quality or more hopefully with just as much customization to make games work. Here's to hoping it'll be able to layer

Fantastic, I can't wait to see how this SNES emulation turns out.

This is the thing that'll make or break my purchase.
Hell I've got £7 of store credit waiting at Shoptemp, I'll only have to spend £20 on this DSTwo.

To be honest I'm mostly expecting this to be made using SNEmulDS, considering Supercard's track record of implementing other system emulators as plugins, like on the GBA slotcards. As well as the GBA emulator being made from Darkchen's iPlayer emulator.

(funny how i still don't have mine, and they're releasing SNES already....)

I sure hope it ain't SNEmulDS though

....but I guess it can't be helped...

but that would mean we'd have to adjust settings constantly

Well the SNES emulation really HAS to take advantage of the CPU, that's the whole point!
If it can manage GBA emulation then I don't think it should be much of an issue to handle the SNES graphics, right?
At least that's what I hope...

Unlike the GBA emulator, SNEmulDS used hardware acceleration to handle screen drawing, and even that could only go so far, because 4 BGs with no per-tile priority can't handle 3 BGs that do have per-tile priority. They could base their emulator on everything else, and then work on their own method of software rendering (because there isn't enough time for the DSTWO's CPU to interact with the DS's internal hardware through the card I/O ports).

right off the bat, I'm putting my doubt hat on anything with Mode 7 graphics working correctly, if at all. Transparency overlays will probably be a little rough, too.

but it'll be using SNEmulDS...if they'd bother to make it use the CPU and not the constant settings, then why not just start from scratch....but meh hopefully it won't be like that.

If it comes out tomorrow and it runs Earthbound, I will also be buying a Supercard. This is an awesome product.
Very excited to see how it works. Portable SNES on the DS has always been the ultimate dream for me.

Super Mario RPG is probably the hardest and most intense SNES game to run. If it runs, I will be blown totally away.

SNEmulDS was already running Earthbound and it was completely playable. Its only issue was that boss battles had glitched graphics.
I played it from start to finish, and even wasted a ton of time getting the Sword of Kings.

Hopefully, the DStwo will emulate it even better.

I doubt even Yoshi's Island will run. I suspect the initial release will have any support for carts that use special chips, coprocessors, etc.

Just remember gais, SOON != TOMORROW. Having said that, the SNES compatibility will at best be similar to GBA's. If it's written from scratch, no special games will work. If it's a port of SNES9x or something efficient, then who knows. Either way, it's nice to see they aren't forgetting about their promises.

I would like to rectify what shaun said.
I'll just post the email I received from romman:

Dear Costello,

Thank you for your email. SNES is working, I guess will be released soon. The Divx playback need more time to do so. *********** ************ ****************** ************* ************* ****************.

And when SNES is ready, I will send the software to GBAtemp.net at the first time.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Best Regard.

That doesn't really sound like 'IT'S COMING OUT TOMORROW', but it's good to know that it's at least working and on its way.

I guess by the time DivX playback comes, we will be used to converting to DPG

It also makes it sound like games requiring special chips will not work. They said they got it working, not completed or finished. Unless that's just a loss in translation kind of deal.

I'm more interested in the features they have worked up for SNES emulation rather than compatibility.

I have beat Earthbound nearly every year (almost 100%) since I was 12. It's too bad to see that my half torn up strategy guide with the missing box would have been worth a lot more if only I had taken better care of it.
