Hacking Snes 9x issue in Wiiflow

Okay- I think I may have solved my issue with the Wii U pro controller. However, when using snes9xgx in wiiflow, whenever I select a game, the Wiiflow icon appears, but then the system seems to almost crash. After this I am taken to a simple-looking version of snes9xgx with a list of games, which simply says "select a game"

It's an annoyance more than anything, having to select the game twice.. any thoughts on why this is happening?

never mind.. apparently didn't even fix my controller issue.. When I connect a Wii U Pro controller, it and my WiiMote both are assigned slot 1. So confusing and frustrating... guess I'll have to give up on this.
