Hey guys, I love the DSTT and everything, but I'm looking for a slot 2 alt. to play GBA on. The EZflash 3in1 obviously looks good, but I'd like it to store the GBA roms separately from the DSTT, from what I've seen only the "EZFlash IV Lite Deluxe" can anyone tell me of a reliable source to purchase one in the US, or a better alternative to it?

Thanks a bunch guys!

Its not like they show up on the DSTT menu.

To leave space free for the rest of my trash.

GBA roms are hefty?
What do you do you mean by that?
They are 32 MB max, and those aren't that common.

Take that into consideration with all the other roms being smashed into the bin.

Well how many games are you going to be putting on one memory card?

Standalone slot 2 carts are either a small amount of NOR flash (given in Megabits, so a 1Gb cart is 128MB), or a larger amount of NAND flash/a card slot AND a very small amount of NOR flash or RAM to run the game from.

-All NOR means slow to add games (copying from PC) and have to erase the whole thing to add new ROMS. Also very expensive for the storage capacity.
-NAND storage and NOR or RAM for execution means waiting while the cart copies the ROM over for execution.

NOR will mean slow copying times each time you change the game your playing but will stay there till you copy another over it.
RAM will mean worse battery life (generally) and games need to be re-copied after powering off the DS, but will copy quicker.

You really are best off just getting a cheap 3in1 or similar and loading games from your slot1 microSD IMO.

EDIT: Fixed typo gratefulbuddy pointed out

I don't understand how having a microSD slot on your slot2 card is going to solve anything for you, unless you're talking about a slot2 with internal memory (which tends to be more expensive than a slot2 with a microSD slot + a microSD card and isn't expandable). Otherwise, you're going to have to purchase another microSD card for your GBA games anyway. So what's the difference which slot you insert the new microSD card into?

I would just get the 3 in 1 and an 8 gb memory card. I currently have 89 ds games, 29 gba games, 75 old games+emus, and some misc homebrew on mine and I still have like 2 gigs free. I think that fits the "more then you'll ever play" requirement.

edit: changed my old games number from 85 to 75, I was thinking of the wii for that one. Not that 10 old games make a lot of difference in the scheme of things since they max out at like 3 megs each... lol

I think I'm going to rest on my 4gig for a while though, and I have 70 somethin NDS, and a buttload of NES and gameboy. So thats why I'm worrying about space, I only got a gig left.
