I haven't touched my X360 since 2011, wondering if anything new like that CFW installation through browser for 4.81/2 PS3s without any hardware popped up, or may pop up within the next months.

Literally nothing.
Can't tell if Microsoft is too good or hackers stopped caring. The first one sounds about right if nobody could manage more than one software hack when it was new but the fact Xbox Live is still full of hackers it might have just been a "everyone that cares" is good already.

Nothing happened or is going to happen. The security - software side - is pretty tight and with an hardware mod (RGH) you can do everything. Since modchips are cheap (less than 5 euro postage included) there is no much interested in that.
As said by others, aside from hardmods, no softmods.
Only "softmod" that is available is flashing drives.
