Tutorial Simple Guide to Downgrading your 3DS

now my question is I cant load Emunand9 (Flashes Red bottom screen, Black top then back to homebrew menu) is there anyway to backup NAND?

Just run the downgrade again from 9.1 and the missing titles should be installed.

Which sysupdater did you use? The one from the OP?(the same as the one on page 95, uses LIBk). I got the same error again and again so I tried this one:

This one uses SULib instead of LIBk. Hopefully it will work now

It uses SULib. Took me about 10 tries (always froze before it got to "press y") but it finally worked

I used safesysupdater.

I did not format my 3ds before downgrade.

I used tinyformat after the creation of emunand to unlink my nands and to format sysnand.

All safesysupdater does is check MD5, if you do that beforehand there is no advantage over sysupdater

1a) yes, formatting removes hax
1b) for sysNAND I don't think it matters. Not sure, though
2) If it was linked before you created emuNAND, your NANDs need to be unlinked. If it was not linked before, you don't need to unlink your NANDs. However, unlinking is recommended for other reasons. See here for more details

I ended up using safesysupdater. It took a couple of tries, but I got it to work. Thanks!

Every time I download and get the 9.2.0-20U zip I get the E6339468A1E82B1D50E9222F017C0477 code from it and it is wrong from the e5f40c3b155cfd12ef38be35d2e81d2e code I am supposed to get? I need help finding one that works or at least tell me what the new code is for...

BTW, I did check and it said that it was 9.2.0-20U, but it still gives me the wrong code that I am supposed to get, but I'll install it anyway...

Unless the first post has been updated the hashes for the files will be wrong. A few extra missing titles have been added to the 9.2 files and as such it's extremely important to check you have the right type (new or old 3ds), the right version (9.2) and finally the right region (america, europe or japan). Your best bet is to look on that 3ds iso site and check in the thread people keep pointing too as it should have the new updated hashes to check yours are the same before proceeding.

Well it won't let me downgrade because I found out it was the wrong file (Although I did check and it specifically said 9.2.0-20U for the N3DS, but I get the wrong hashes), I still don't understand why it is wrong... I have been to multiple websites too but when I download that same version (9.2.0-20U for N3DS) I still get the wrong hashes and they are all the same files and hashes...

currently i'm on 9.6 (new 3ds xl europe with menuhacks) and now i want to upgrade to 10.3 before i downgrade to 9.2.
for updating and downgrading i plan to use the sysupdater from page 95.
i downloaded the 10.3E and the 9.2E from "that" iso site but when i compare the zip folders and the OPs checksums via "OnlineMD5" it says that they're different :-/

i'm stuck. can someone help me out?

Is it safe for me to downgrade to 9.2E or do I have to uninstall those CIAs first in order to avoid bricking?

I'm asking this because I remember reading something about it, even though I can't find it anymore (or maybe it's just my memory failing me ).

The worst thing that could happen to your cias would be that you could not run it because they need 9.2+ fw (like ironfall)

to clarify:
my M5D Numbers are matching the ones stated on that iso site i downloaded the firmware from.
but i'm afraid to use the files because they're different to the numbers stated in the original post!
did you guys all had matching M5D numbers with the ones listed in the first post?
