is it more stablelized yet if i brick theres no going back and im not buying another 3ds if i did any time soon
With the version I linked further up this page it's more stable. zoogie has even tried turning his 3DS off in the middle of the downgrade 3-4 times (he has a hardmod) and only one of the times did it brick, and that was when he purposely turned it off while it was downgrading an important title. That being said it's still best to wait until no more bricks are reported (outside of user error) or wait for KTM. If you're patient enough that is :P

i tried many times but im unlucky cant make it to downgrade button apps always froze on theme menuhax

For ages.
That's why I have this dilemma right now, whether to actually try downgrading one of my 3DSes. One is an old one with a loopy capture board, the other is a Majoras Mask N3DSXL, and I really don't wanna risk bricking either..

If youre on o3ds, realistically the worst that can happen is you have to use recovery mode to update back to 10.3

One important thing!

First thing to do when you downgraded to sysnand 9.2!:

- Install Gateway "Launcher.dat" file on the root of your 3DS SD
- Put SD back into your 3DS
- Turn off WiFi
- Go to your Web Browser and enter URL: http://go.gateway-3ds.com
- Select menu after the error and add as favorite
- Go back to your Home Screen and turn on wifi
- Launch Web browser and it should auto load go.gateway-3s.com
- Let it boot into Gateway Menu
- Make a NAND backup!
- After the NAND backup, turn off 3DS (Hold B+D-Pad Down) and remove your SD, copy (not move) your NAND.BIN to a safe place on your PC (\Backup NAND Blue 3DSXL (or whatever))
- Make a full backup off ALL files and Folders (no image backup, so copy) to a safe place on your PC (can take awhile)

Done, if you want Emunand, you can go on :)

USE THIS VERSION (SAFER):

Older versions have a high risk of brick. This version should be much safer. It's the latest commit by Steveice10.

Read here for more details: https://gbatemp.net/threads/͡°-͜ʖ-͡°-10-3-kernel-hax-poc.407817/page-120#post-5918893

I would still not recommend people use this just yet. It might be safer, but it's still not certain whether it's completely safe. But since people are going to downgrade anyway, it's better to use this version.

@TheStoneBanana Please update the link in the OP. And remove the message saying no one has bricked. That is clearly not the case anymore as evidenced by this thread: http://gbatemp.net/threads/wip-list-of-known-bricks-due-to-an-attempt-to-downgrade-to-9-2.407920/

Is the SysUpdater linked here the same as 0.4.2b, or another (later?) version? Anyone know?

How does one restore a NANd backup made this way when youre bricked?

Also, 4th time now, STILL WONT WORK. Keeps softbricking me.

If it wasn't downloaded from that dropbox link, it's not the same. I don't think the version number changed. The one in the OP is older.

Using the build in the quote above?
When bricked you need a hardmod to restore NAND backups. But at least it's possible to recover.

well im stuck at this

ARM11 kernel Exploit
#1 :allocating buffers, i just made it up to 5? how long does it take

If it only made it to step 5 it's a fail and you should restart and try again, there are eight steps, this is what it looks like loaded properly, someone else will have to verify the latest build still looks the same:

Apologies for the wretched quality, but you get the gist. it's only when it prints out text after you press y and then locks that you are in trouble.

The 'safer' one looks a bit different.
