Sega Saturn classic Panzer Dragoon will be getting a remake

IMG_2405.JPG

One of the more standout titles from the short-lived Sega Saturn will be getting remade soon. Forever Entertainment has been hired by SEGA to remake Panzer Dragon I and II. Both games will feature brand new graphics "comparable to today's standards", and some of its gameplay elements will be modernized to make it more accessible to new players. No platform was given, but the first game's remake is confirmed to release before the end of 2019, while Panzer Dragon II: Zwei: Remake will follow the next year. More information is due in the "next few months". Forever Entertainment's previous history consists of Fear Effect: Sedna, which was moderately received by critics and fans.

I was just going on about this today as I've been replaying the games on an emulator.
Still yet to try Saga but I hope after these two Orta and Saga get the same treatment.
Especially Saga with an accurate translation.
I'm putting some money aside for this, really hope it hits PC day one.
Like a dream come true, finally.
Just hope it sticks to the standards set by the Crash and Spyro remakes, this is a trend I hope keeps catching on.

Yess!! Make it great again!:)

Edit: The Source Code is lost, huh!? They should just reverse engineer the games or observe the mechaniac through emulation!:P

Heads up, guys!

The games are not that good.

There, I wrote it.

It's a rails shooter, with an overused lock-on mechanic.

If you don't like rail shooters, then I guess you might think it's not good... but for anyone that does like rail shooters, it's top-tier - along with the Star Fox and Sin & Punishment games.

Its crap like shitty emulators that make me want to get an OG Saturn and the ODE. But in the mean time, remakes are way better imo.

There's the PS2 'port' if you're that desperate...

Weirdly, I remember it being advertised as a remake.

Anyone has made a translation patch for the PS2 remake of Nights Into Dreams?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nights:_Journey_of_Dreams
It clearly states that it's a sequel, and the PS2 version that you are referring to in this post is actually the game that has been re-released as the "remake" for X360, PS3 and PC, fully in english. I am not aware of a translation patch for the PS2 version.

Id be sCHocKeD if it didn’t make it to the switch. Anyhow, I wonder if this means there will never be a sega Saturn mini console.
Unfortunately, the Saturn is such a tricky console to emulate, I doubt even with Sega working on it directly we'd get any kind of decent emulator that can run on something with hardware similar to what a "mini" console would have. It's why you never see Saturn games packed into an emulator on modern systems, they're always ports of ports or complete remakes because of how convoluted and silly the hardware design of the Saturn was.
