I'm not sure, but I think those rom numbers are mainly version numbers. And like programs that work on an earlier OS may work on a later version, some of your roms may work on sdl-mame. But if it doesn't work, then I don't think there is a way to convert them (you don't 'just' turn a linux program in a windows program).
Also keep in mind that the rom must be compatible and that it's not too large for the memory. Oh, and that it has the correct name (read: don't rename the zip) and that you have the parent rom (clones don't always have all the files).
