I'm more disappointed that it still uses Moonshell. It wasn't a promised feature, sure, but it would've been nice to have an iplayer that plays nds and has the extra trimmings ie rtg.
But perhaps they're only using Moonshell as a 'stopgap' until the 'proper' OS is completed/tested/bug-free - although if it DOES come with Moonshell, I would also be slightly disappointed

Considering the additional formats it plays, even if it is Moonshell, it must be enhanced in some way for compatibility with those new types of video. Maybe Moonshell was just a convenient, pre-existing framework to build on, or something.

Though I did see a theory that the card could flash itself (since it has it's own processor and such), I don't know if the current iPlayer can do that.
I had that same thought but wanted to see if anyone else said so first. We will have to wait and see if this is true. There is no other reason why SC wouldnt include one.

The iPlayer can flash itself, weather it can boot or not. I flashed mine on the error screen on the DSi XD

I suppose we really can't judge until the software is truly ready though.

#5661,
you should know as much as everyone of us here do

the selling point is GBA emulation and the maybe SNES emulation
other than these 2... i don't see how special it is SCDS2

in other words, unless we are going to rip apart the extra CPU
otherwise, SCDS2 is just an overhype product

(based on the current info don't mention free cheat because its useless for real cheating)

why would i get a scds2? mainly collection and of course i might put it in a good use if they would introduce the SNES emulation (never like GBA)

This product was maybe a little overhyped, I mean you had months of anxious waiting, but still, I think you will be fine for value.

I'm not sure if you know this, but Supercard products have held their worth, rather, their longevity is extraordinarily long. I think the prime example of this is the Supercard DS ONE, if you bought the Supercard DS ONE when it was released, it was one of the first slot 1 carts that had automatic patching (a la R4), it had a nice menu (a huge jump from slot 2 cartridges), etc. It was top of the line, side by side with the R4. Moving along, the R4 jumped ship, the EZ Flash V sort of clung on, but a new challenger appears, the CycloDS Evolution. It claimed to eventually release RTS and RTG functions. Supercard team beats them by releasing it first. Moving on, as the firmware slowly got bogged down, BAM, EOS shows up. The Supercard DS ONE may not have been the best cart overall, but it has stood in the way of competition and stayed as a good alternative for the entirety of its life. Sure the Supercard DS ONE was released in several variations, but if you still have the original Supercard DS ONE, you still enjoy all the benefits. How many people can say that about their investments in the DSX or the R4, etc. I can say the same about their slot 2 carts, updates appear even now, I mean they even added auto DLDI on a slot 2.

So what does this mean? Well I'm thinking that being an early adopter of the Supercard DS TWO isn't a bad thing at all. Even if it is a little overhyped, I think the brand itself is worth it. I'm assuming you got it at the $30 price-tag too. You can't even get an iPlayer at that price, so if the Supercard DS TWO runs movies, you got your money's worth already. GBA emulation and SNES emulation is gravy on the side imo.
I think you don't realize the gravity of the statement you make about the supercard. http://eng.supercard.sc/download.htm

Take a look at the slot 2 cartridge files. I think you may be a little surprised.

The thing SC can really do to ensure this cart succeeds is to make the SDK available, so that homebrew developers will be able to start taking advantage of the extra processing power. While I'm sure SC will update the GBA and SNES emluators over time (assuming their compatibility isn't perfect at launch), it won't hurt the DSTWO's sales if there are other alternatives available... not to mention other homebrew that uses the processor for other things.

I'll be posting more photos, a video and a short hands-on preview tonight (GMT) for those of you who are interested.

i remember you mentioned something about the fussy mode for free cheat
would you be able to provide a few more info on that

thanks

The sell point for this card is, besides it being compatible with all DSs, the GBA and SNES emulation, it doesnt say anywhere that its an added bonus, its a feature, as in they are charging for it. So is it really fair to charge for something that is not perfect?

Anyways, as overhyped as this looks, I really hope in the end its all they promised, so, waiting for the review
