Hacking Sandisk 16Gb Class 2 only loads around 1/2 my games??

Hey guys:

I have a couple of 16gb sdhc's that are only taking 1/2 of the 5 gig of games that I have. I have reformatted with the pansonic format program. Loaded up all the necessary software for my DS. I have updated the firmware on my Acekard 2i to 1.4. I've checked to confirm I have the proper loaders.

When my computer is finished copying to my root\games directory. I eject the drive. Then I use the "safley remove hardare" and then extract the chip. When I load it up and boot the DS, About 1/2 the games have the icons next to the name of the game. These all load and work properly. The other 1/2 show up in text, but there is no icon, just a blank box with no game icon in it. When I click on them, it says, "Loading" and just keeps the "loadings screen up. It never enters the game software.

I did take another micr sdhc card from another unit that has all the games working on it, put it in and it worked perfectly in all my Acekard 2i cartridges. I can only conclude that there's something not right with the problem sdhc card. Can you make anything of this??? It's making me nuts!!!

class 2 is pretty risky, try to go to class 6 or higher for best performance.

btw u should get AKAIO

i'm using the same card as you...i've been using it for the past year with no problems at all i have just under 300 games right now a bit of space left and never had any issues...maybe you got a bad microsd?

also i'm using Acekard2i with AKAIO 1.6RC-2

That to me looks like a hacked card (although Panasonics SD formatter usually shows the true value.

Try changing the options to Full format - Erase on (this will take a long time!) and format size adjustment to on
see if the size of the SD card is reported as anything other than 14.7GB (this is the approx size shown by windows after the formatting)

Hey guys:

I should mention also that I tried setting up a couple of versions of Moonshell(2.03, 2.06, 2.10 all unsuccessfully) on these 2 sandisk cards. Could this be part of the problem??? If not I'll try a full format with the panasonic formatter/everything on.

Be very careful when purchasing MicroSD cards. I just baught a Sandisk 16GB Class 2 card from China and it states that it has 15.6GB storage space but only holds about 2-3GB before corrupting. I suggest only buying retail.

I think we have the same problem. I bought mine from a Data Memory on Amazon and I have requested an Rma#. I am hoping for a simple refund and I will purchase the next ones from a reliable source. Good luck with your return.

I didnt return it. I still have it, but received a refund. I am going to try the Panasonic formatter when I get home from work to see if that changes anything. Worst case I payed $10 for a 2-3GB card, not a bad deal but not as good as I hoped.

Try putting them in folders or catagory folders

could be just too many files in the root folder that they do not show up ..just reorganise your games into either alphabet order or genre order or something logical so you have them spread out in several folders and not just the one

Wait, a 16GB card for $10 didn't raise any red flags for you? Seriously? If you bought it on eBay (I assume you did, anyways) and you got a full refund, I'm guessing it's because the seller didn't have any real 16GB cards to sell you.

Amazon usually sells reliable sd cards. Especially if they have the option of super saver shipping, because that means Amazon has them in stock and they are probably good quality

I got my new cards today and they are working perfectly. The crappy cards are on there way back!!!
