This game gets pretty damn hard even on easy mode after a while. I've played all mine on Normal so far, I don't even wanna think about hard mode as I tried that once and epic fail -_-. You have to be very skilled if you are competing on that mode and I'd adore you =P

Anyway this game is okay, A bit difficult for me to follow the storyline, I dunoo maybe it's just me but the field battles are amazing.
Keep levelling your characters up! That's what I love about this game. Initially, I thought it would be easy all the way through, but it isn't... and there's so much to do, as well
smile.gif
.
To those in the know (or spiritofcat who is like a genius regarding this game), on Siege of Kawagoe Castle I have 9/10 missions completed and I can't work out what the last one is
unsure.gif
. Anyone have any ideas? The mission I'm missing is the last chronologically on the mission list. Do I need to unlock this mission first by completing other stages

?
Thank-you!

Yep, it's definitely not the sort of game you can easily play through linearly just doing each stage in order and expecting to win.
Going back and re-doing stages is very important to building up your characters and weapons enough to succeed later in the game.

That's the same mission that I'm missing for that first stage.
I've got 9/10 on the second stage as well, but in that stage I'm missing the second last one.

Back on page 7 prwlr linked to a FAQ that's still under construction: http://swc.ietherpad.com/1
It looks to have a full listing of all the missions and how to activate the ones that have special requirements.
For stage 1 mission 10 it says:

10 - Break for Freedom - Prevent Harujii Ashikaga from reaching the Escape Point!
Do all missions before triggering the Aya mission and under 8 minutes . With these condition the 10th mission is always triggered.
Alternative try this, follow on the instruction 1-8 when Aya close to the fortress top left defeat her.

I haven't managed to trigger it myself yet but I'll give it a go again soon.

Ahhhh thank-you. I'd been puzzling over this for quite a while. That FAQ looks good, too *bookmarked*.

No worries.
I've managed to do it now.
First attempt I got it but didn't manage to fulfill the bonus condition.
Second time I forgot to trigger the mission where you stop the enemy officer from warning the camp.
Third time I managed to do everything right and got the bonus on all 10 missions!

Took me three tries just to do it haha

Whats the procedure if you're having trouble beating a certain mission? Do I just re-do some of the previous missions and level up first?

Has anybody else tried using the female character? There appears to be no major differences in the dialogue options, however you get twin swords!
Sure, she doesn't have a true ranged attack, but I never really used the gun to begin with.
Her attack set, in my opinion, is insane compared to the male character.

Pretty much
smile.gif
. You can do synthesis to produce more powerful weapons but from what I've read in another thread, it only comes in handy later on in the game. Best thing to do is level up. Find a map and destroy as many enemies as possible
yay.gif
.
Make sure you use all bonuses to your advantage, though. Always use your special skills (R button) if it makes your attacks more powerful, always use battle skills when and where necessary to give you the upper hand. If I'm honest, I always forget about the battle skills
unsure.gif
.
Edit: Forgot to mention, remember to use the musou attack, too!

Yeah, I chose the female character. For some reason I always do when there's an option in any game between male and female, and she always gets the name 'Imogen'
laugh.gif
. Her twin swords are awesome and she's also dead hot

Good to know that I'm not the only one who does this. My female is always "April". I actually learned about a year back, that would be what my sister would have been named if she had survived birth. :/

Does anyone know if it's possible to change weapons or do males have to have sword/gun and females have to have twin sword?
Yes, it's possible to use the weapons of other characters - but only if you have a friendship level of excellence with them.

Haha! See, it's the way to be
smile.gif
. And wow, that's kind of weird. Strange how things like this happen.
And I'm sorry to hear about your sister btw... I had a brother (Nathaniel) who also didn't survive birth

But, yes, how awesome is the female combo set? I have a much easier time chaining a massive combo on enemy officers and commanders.

Sorry to hear that :/.
The awesomeness is indescribable! I love the Yx6 + X attack. Plows through enemies!

Although everyone calls the game a button masher, I've found that just mashing the attack button will get you killed pretty quick. Using some strategy and trying to complete the missions effectively is the main trick to passing the stages. Works for me, at least.

Play better.

Great advice! Should he mash the sword button twice, or thrice as fast?

Remember to mash the Strong Attack button occasionally, that really helps.
Regular attacks are just a way of keeping your enemy off guard and letting you select which strong attack you want to perform.
Y Y Y Y X serves me well with Nobunaga or Kotaru Fuma.

But yeah, to swiitness, if you're having trouble with a certain stage there are a few things to do.
First, work out why you're losing. If there's a certain battle condition that's stopping you from winning then work on preventing that.
If you're losing because your characters are dying, then yes, go and redo some earlier stages to level up your characters and to gain weapons and items to use in upgrading your weapon.

QUOTE(vandawn @ Apr 11 2011, 10:20 PM) on another matter is it possible to go on a different route other than nobunaga's?
i mean when hideyoshi asks you if you will follow nobunaga well i just pressed "yes"
as i liked his style xD
but if you press "no" does anything else happen on the game?
I don't know. I went with yes as well.
I've just tried re-playing the last mission of chapter 1 and choosing the dialogue options at the end that say I don't want to join the Oda army but the characters won't accept those responses. They just act shocked or offended and ask me again until I choose the option they want to hear.

I tend to always play female characters when given the choice.
It seems like the female character was thrown in at the last minute in this game though since some of the conversations refer to her as him.

nah i guess the female character was pretty well made
also i think that her attack patern was a little bit boosted than the male's character
well this maybe comes from the twin swords which i also prefer than just a simple sword and gun
on the other hand about refering the female character as "him", "he"
as i remember correctly in federal japan the generals even if they were girls people were refering to them as "him".
