Nintendo promised that the GBA games would be exclusive to Ambassadors. It's not the ambassador's fault that the later adopters didn't buy the console early.

Do you have the idea that the Ambassadors are punished if i play a gba game?
 
I'm bowing out of this ambassador debate now, but yes, it does sound like he believes his rights are somehow being infringed upon if anyone not an ambassador gets to play 10 to 25 year old games on the 3ds via digital download by paying for them. How dare we infringe on his rights like that. And to add insult to injury, some of us get to play the whole GBA library using the SuperCard. In fact, I think I'll go do that right now, just to be a prick. :-p Bad xwatchmanx, bad.

Wow guys, congratulations on giving me time to reply before saying "he believes his rights are infringed upon". Congratulations on proving to me that I can't take time away from the forums before someone jumps to assumptions.

I don't want GBA games that the Ambassadors got to show up on the shop at least until years down the road. I mean if we're all getting the same frickin thing, there's really nothing special to differentiate them. Sure we get them for free, but put that to the side. There won't be a "omg you're an ambassador?!?!?!?!11?!1!" type thing to show off. We get a certificate. Whoop-dee-fucking-doo. But if someone buys the GBA games that are supposed to be for ambassadors, what is there to show off? Sure it sounds like a stupid argument to you guys, but for someone like me, and others out in the world, this is a big thing for collectors-wise.

I still think it's "racism" against people that actually have to save money for a long time to afford one.

You payed $80 extra to buy your system before the price drop. if the combined total value fo your compensation games works out to $80... Where's the problem again? This was never about having something to show off. It was making sure people didn't feel ripped off for being early adopters.

I really don't know why you guys are having so much trouble accepting that I'm thinking different then you. You guys can't accept the fact that I consider it a collectors thing, and yet I've never tried saying "ya, you guys are wrong and stupid, it's a collectors thing". I said I consider it as one, just like a lot of people out in the world.
 
I understand your perspective now. You never really clarified it before. You want something exclusive and collectable for being an early adopter, not simply compensation.

It's just I'm pretty sure that was not Nintendo's original intention with this program.

Seriously though, just read back through the thread to see where we're coming from. Your arguments have been ridiculous. Someone even suggested that you guys deserve a refund. For the games you didn't pay for.

Edit: And you really didn't say you consider it a collector's thing. I can see that now, but you didn't say that at all before.
 
Spreading the eshop outside the DS and giving a way to modify (update) the data on the games themselves?

I like this... Seems ninty is pretty confident with their anti-piracy / anti-hacking measures are seeing how far they can push it before it goes badumbadumbadumbadum

If you absolutely need collectors stuff, then that's what your ambassador certificate is for.

I dont want to insult you ,but it is not normal to think that you are special because you own some games that only 5000000 other persons own,at least not if you are 22.
 
Is anyone else really excited about this update? I feel like I'm overly excited for that Nintendo Network.

It sounds cool, I guess. I'm not ridiculously excited, but then again, I haven't done much research as to what makes the Nintendo network different from the online capability already present in 3DS games. I suppose it'll streamline them sorta like XBox Live or PSN, so that's cool, right? Maybe add some sort of trophy/achievement-like feature? :ha: The DLC for games is really cool, too
 
I'm wondering how DLC will be activated since games only seem to be accessing data files that are on the cartridge themselves.
But if I'm not mistaken I believe I heard somewhere that 3DS game cartridges usually have a small part of writable memory, so it's possible that it's stored there?
