Exactly what I think

Press edition, then choose select a section of code , then edit lenght to 1000, click on Ok, when it ask if you want to select until ff0 , you'll see a bunch of lines highlighted blue, press backspace, click yes then save...it will create a .bak file, don't put that one in the hans folder you created on the root of your sd card but the other...the right one is slightly lighter than the bak file...

I don't see edition what editor are you using? I am using DxH ( i think that is what it is called)

I already got that far. I typed in FF0 and it said something like could not be found

Maybe you have to change where it starts...is it 0 ? There are three option : start /end (i think) and lenghth...Make it start at 0 and write 1000 as length...
